A better reed.

Here are 5 reasons to play Vintage reeds: A richer, more vibrant and woody quality for the type of sound many leading reed players prefer. Greater vibration potential and livelier response. Resistance to warping, splitting, crinkling at the tip, or waterlogging. Meticulous manufacturing techniques maximize the number of good reeds per box. The exceptional quality of the organically grown Australian cane results in reeds that last longer than other brands.

LOUD, aggressive, edgy, thin tip ...

from U.S.

Comments about Reeds Australia Vintage Tenor Saxophone Reeds:

I love playing with this reed when I want to be LOUD and aggressive. It's great for jamming with those guitar players who don't know how to lower the volume! It also puts a sharp edge to my playing. I play on a metal berg larsen tenor sax mouthpiece; the mouthpiece-reed combo is probably why it is so loudProblems: It is a little too thin for my taste at the tip, so it wears out fast. I have not tried upping the strength, though. It also chips (makes slits at the tip) easily; be careful!

excellent sound and long lasting

from Southern California

Comments about Reeds Australia Vintage Tenor Saxophone Reeds:

I have played the sax for around 18 years with a few of those years served in the Military band. I found the Vintage reeds to be a very high quality reed that tended to last much longer then my Vandorin reeds. These reeds had a higher average of "good" reeds in each box, though the strength tended to be a little higher compared to vandorin by maybe 1/4 to 1/2 stiffer.
