Unprecedented tone, flexibility and response.
Select Jazz reeds feature the thickest spine and blank of D'Addario's jazz reeds, with a traditional tip shape. The Select Jazz cut offers great projection, focus and a vibrant sound. They are available in both filed and unfiled models. The debate rages on in saxophone forums all across the web. Filed, or unfiled? The conventional wisdom is that the unfiled are a little less bright, but that they can be pushed to achieve the brightness they fail to display right out of the gate. As to whether that characteristic is an attribute or a detriment, or as to whether that is even an accurate characterization is ultimately up to the individual player. Offered in third strengths, rather than half strengths, so players can choose the most precise strength for their individual equipment.
- Outstanding control and projection
- Available in both Filed and Unfiled models for the full range of saxophones
- Available in third strengths (soft, medium, and hard) from 2.0 to 4.0

Comments about D'Addario Woodwinds Select Jazz Filed Tenor Saxophone Reeds:
I use these reeds with a Jody Jazz DV 7 mouthpiece and a custom Selmer Mark VII tenor for a nice full dark sound. I love the response I get with them, and they play out better than more expensive reeds out there. I recommend these reeds to any jazz or contemporary saxophonist. I also used these reeds on a Vandoren Jumbo Java tenor mouthpiece. Superb!
