I, like many of you, never heard of Ashdown. But when my Ampeg 4x10 cabinet got stolen I needed something fast. I decided to buy the Ashdown cabinet. All the reviews were good. When I got it, I couldn't believe how good it sounds. Way more low end than my Ampeg cabinet Ii run it with a Ampeg b2-re Ii dont think I've been this happy with my sound in a long time. Buy it, you wont regret it.
This thing can be bassie bright very midie what ever you want oh and loud and very VERY clean sounding great all around! And did you see the price!Stop reading go buy this NOW!
This cab has a lot of low end! I bought it along with the Mag300 head and it provides a lot of low end. You can also get a good smooth tone out of it. This cab is very nice for the price and I would recommend it for any bassist looking to get a good rig for a good price.xxx
I wrote a review on this cab almost a year ago and I'm just checking back to say that this cab is still working just fine like the day I bought it. I'm sticking with ashdown cabs but I might go to a Ampeg for a head. The ashdowns are still the BEST buy for the price.
I recently purchased this cab with the Ashdown mag 300r head, but the head took awhile so I just used the head from my behringer bx1200 and it sounded great. When the Mag 300r arrived it just blew me away. This cab can definitely compete with the likes of GK, SWR, and Ampeg.
I, like other people, ordered this cabinet without ever hearing of Ashdown. I just needed something in my price range. I almost had to sell a bass so I could afford a Hartke that didn't really make me happy but I needed something to gig with. When I got the cab the box it was shipped in had a big hole in it and the speaker cable was missing. Ashdown sent one back to me quickly. I had an extra one so I used that for practice. It was great I could hear my self for once. It has great highs and lows and it goes perfect with an Ashdown head.
I don't even usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to write to say "don't listen to Chris from Las Vegas"! A "lite Jazz band"? Are you kidding? I don't know what head you were using with this cabinet, but this thing has PLENTY of low end and is EXTREMELY clean and punchy when used with the right bass head (I have an Ashdown MAG300). Maybe this guy is playing in arena's or in a band that is incredibly loud (or maybe he got a DEFECTIVE cabinet). Then again, maybe he works for Hartke or GK or something! To say that this is a bad cabinet just makes YOU look like an idiot.
I bought this cab a couple weeks ago. The day I got it, I played a gig with it. I didn't know what to expect. I was AMAZED. It's loud with the mag300 head and it's durable. It looks cooler than any other amp I have ever seen. The blue speakers look really awesome in dark venues... I've never seen speakers of any color before. It is a genius idea. The metal grid guard thing is a little flimsy, but still very durable. It can go through a beating and still look great. It is perfect for any kind of rock, and the low frequencies handle beautifully. I play rocky funk stuff, and it is perfect. I imagine it would be good for virtually any kind of music... this cab is especially punchy. Great buy. Worth more like $450-$500, not $300.
I'm just a beginner and I got this cab plus the mag 250 head (wish they had the mag 300) for $550. Sounds amazing! It shakes my entire house and it is just great. wow.buy now
Went to a local guitar shop looking for bass cabinets today... Had never really heard of Ashdown until recently. This cab cranks like nothing you would believe, and for the price it definetly beats Ampeg, GK, Hartke et al. (having played on all of those brands).Any self respecting bass player would do themselves well to get ahold of this cab... Ashdown is on the top of my list of best bass amp companies thanks to this spectacular 4x10.
