One channel, one speaker—one kickin' tube amp.

The single-channel Windsor Studio amplifier features a footswitchable Boost button that increases the preamp level. Now you have the flexibility of a dual-channel amp plus control over the dynamic response. You also get the rich distortion characteristics of Windsor amp's class-A tube power topology. The Boost function can be used as an overdrive feature for the power section or simply as a volume boost for soloing.
This 15-watt amplifier uses two 12AX7 preamp tubes and one EL34 power-amp tube in a single-ended configuration with no negative feedback. The power section is designed to accommodate 6L6GC, 6550, 6CA7, KT88 and KT66 octal power tubes, as well as variations on those types. Peavey's exclusive Power Sponge™ output attenuator incrementally adjusts the power output of the amplifier while maintaining the distortion characteristics of the power amp at any chosen volume level. Also onboard is a transformer-balanced XLR direct output with a unique microphone simulator that allows players to send the amplifier signal to a recording device or front-of-house mix without the use of a microphone. Additional features on this Peavey amp include true spring reverb, preamp volume, master volume, three-band tone equalization, footswitchable effects loop and a single 12" loudspeaker.

Golden Amp

from Georgia

Comments about Peavey Windsor Studio 20W 1x12 Tube Combo Amp:

This Peavey Windsor Combo is a wonderful amp. The cleans sound good, the overdrive is great, and it's a great value! I personally love the look, and adore the overall sound. I was going to buy a Fender Hotrod, but changed my mind when I saw this. Beautiful look, sound, and character. Peavey wouldn't cater to so many professionals if this was not true.

Windsor Studio

from Salisbury NC

Comments about Peavey Windsor Studio 20W 1x12 Tube Combo Amp:

I was looking for a smaal amp but with certain features such as XLR out, Real Spring Reverb, Effects loop and the features of the Windsor Studio blew me away especially the built in antenuator. You can get prety much anything from heavy distortion to clean country out of it. It could use a little more bottom end but for what it's made for it's fine. Oh! Don't forget that you can use five or six different power tubes in it without rebiasing. If you want thick blues use a 6L6GC, if you want to go country plug in a good Tele and leave the stock EL34 in. This is one versitile amp for the money.

Big Hype, long wait, but there wasn't much on the plate

from Undisclosed

Comments about Peavey Windsor Studio 20W 1x12 Tube Combo Amp:

I waited for a long time for this amp to become available. There was soooooo much hype and excitement. This was the perfect amp---light weight, effects loop, great sound etc. etc. etc. Finally, I was able to get one. I brought it home and couldn't wait to plug it in and play. I have had many Peaveys over the last thirty five years and this is the first time I have ever been disappointed. I was hoping for a Fender like (Blues Junior) sound but got nothing even close to it. First of all the sound has no bottom at all. Even when you take all of the treble and mids out and put it on max bass you still have a treble sound. It is by no means a clean mellow sounding amp. I tried it with a Cellestian Blue and the speaker made little or no difference which is very atypical for a that speaker. I wanted very badly to be able to use this for gigs in smaller venues because of the weight and effects loop and supposedly great sound . Wrong the reality of it all is that I now have a practice amp. I have a Peavey Classic 50 212 with Cellestion 70th anniversary speakers in it and I have nothing to say but good things about it. But, as far as the Windsor Studio goes if you want something small you can take on the road, get a Fender Blues Jr. or Vox AC15. I wrote to Peavey and asked if it was me or the amp. I never got an answer from them about it. I wish they would get back to me before the warranty runs out.
