The easiest way of getting the classic Focusrite mic-pre into your recording setup.

The Focusrite Saffire 6 is a 2 in 4 out USB audio interface. It uses the same award-winning Focusrite mic preamps as the rest of the Saffire range. This makes it the best value, and best sounding interface in its class. Its output configuration is also ideal for laptop DJs.

This USB audio interface is ultra-reliable and easy to set up, providing you with the simplest route to record into, and play back from your computer. It has lower latency than any of its rivals, and professional analogue to digital converters ensure you get the best possible signal into your recording software.

With 2 mic preamps, multiple outputs and MIDI I/O, the Saffire 6 USB can be at the center of your home recording setup. However, its reliability means that you can take it out and record on location with confidence. The 2 in 4 out configuration is perfect for laptop DJs who need to be able to cue up material, or send two different signals to either side of a DJ mixer.

The Saffire 6 is Focusrite's most affordable interface to date, and it comes with Ableton Live Lite 7, Novation's Bass Station synthesizer, and over a gigabyte of samples. In addition to all this, you get the Focusrite FX Suite, which includes a compressor, gate, reverb, and EQ to upgrade your standard AU/VST effects.

All Saffire FireWire and Thunderbolt-compatible interfaces now come bundled with Focusrite's Midnight plug-in suite for free upon registration. The Midnight plug-in suite models two of the most iconic Focusrite modules of all time “ the ISA110 equaliser and ISA130 compressor “ and gives them elegant, functional on-screen front panels for easy control.

The best audio interface in its class

from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Focusrite Saffire 6 USB Audio Interface:

This sturdy little black box turned my Gateway FX laptop into a home recording station with great sound and super-low latency. The custom Focusrite drivers work perfectly with Vista x32, a feat in itself. I love how I can plug just about anything into the Saffire and be recording in seconds. Everything I need is on the front panel: padding, monitoring, mixing, delivered to my ears in real time -- no latency issues. I have a simple setup for recording so I don't use most of the output options, but with RCA and TSR plus a headphone jack with separate volume control, the Saffire 6 covers all the options. Probably the best feature is the two mic-pres based on Focusrite technology. The sound is pristine, with a nice boost to the signal and the warmth of costlier preamps. Focusite included a software suite and some sweet plug-ins that all installed without a hitch. Since the Saffire 6 is fully portable and usb-powered, I'm thinking about recording some live street performances where I live off Haight St. -- the Saffire 6 provides the freedom to record or DJ from my laptop. The amount of technology for the price is truly boggling.
