Comments about Bellafina Rainbow Series Blue Violin Outfit:
We are new to violin!
I picked out this violin, for a son who was interested in learning. As a family we have no experience with this type of instrument. Two of my sons are currently using the violin to learn along with some videos.
I thought I surely had the violin fairly well tuned, but it just sounded terrible with the bow and I didn't know what to do. Fortunately my music savvy mother had come to our house and was able to check it out. I HAD gotten it all set up, just was not successful in getting rosin on the bow. The rosin that came with the bow was not transferring on to the strings, fortunately I had already purchased a back-up. Yeah!
But a big issue we have had from the beginning is that one of the tuning screws is loose and won't stay turned where it needs to be. I am not sure how we will fix this because it seems you can not just purchase a new screw on here :( Worse would be if the hole is just too big (not sure yet).
I purchased this instrument some time ago, so don't think I can just return it.
I do think it is a good choice for a beginner, and would recommend it to others :-) It does have a decent sound to it.
