The Loar

A small-bodied guitar with strong, full tone.

Inspired by the incredible craftsmanship and design of the Golden Age, The Loar LH-200 is an acoustic guitar with a classic pre-war body style, outstanding features, and a strong, full tone. From the vintage sunburst finish to the open gear butterbean tuners, The LH-200 is modeled after small-bodied flat top acoustic guitars from the 1930's.

The acoustic guitar features a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, ivory-colored body binding and a rosewood fretboard.

This model also features a bound peghead with a delicate fern inlay in abalone and mother-of-pearl by veteran designer Greg Rich. Following early 20th century bracing patterns, the LH-200 has an incredibly lightweight body that delivers outstanding projection.

The LH-200's smaller body size is great for songwriters and touring musicians who want a great sounding acoustic guitar to take to the stage. The guitar's beautiful looks and vintage features are appealing for all playing styles. Case sold separately.

Nice Guitar--Nice Price

Comments about The Loar LH-200 Small-Body Acoustic Guitar:

I've had the Loar LH-200 for a couple weeks now and I have to say it is excellent. It came with a pickguard in the box that you can put on if you like, I chose not to for now. I may be putting a preamp and pickup in, and then I would probably stick it on. I hate to do anything to this relatively inexpensive guitar, as I like it so much to sit and pluck around on--but I bought it with the idea that I would put a pickup system in it. I'm now thinking I may just put an under the saddle pickup and use an external preamp so i don't spoil the look. The action was playable when I received it, but with the medium gauge strings was a little high, so I took a little off the saddle and it is perfect for me, now. I was pleased that the saddle and nut are both bone--when sanding the saddle it smelled like a dentists office. The workmanship is very nice for a guitar that cost me under three hundred. This really does rival guitars costing much more. I have not purchased a case for it yet, and will have to do so. I just leave it on a stand in the family room and it's always there ready for me to pick up and play. I like this thing so much that if I had to get rid of all 8 of my guitars, this would probably be the one that I keep. If you are looking for a small bodied acoustic like this one, and are on a budget, I recommend this one.

Loar LH-200 small body acoustic

Comments about The Loar LH-200 Small-Body Acoustic Guitar:

I love it! I fingerpick the blues and the mids shine through, which is what I want. I love the craftmanship, the look (vintage, pre-ww II) and the feel. The Loar LH-200 is a lot of quality for not a lot of money.
