Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

I am an experienced Luthier and purchased the Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo by Squier, a Fender backed company primarily for the body and neck plus a very killer paint job of metallic Orange [not a common color for Fender products]. This guitar stock out of the box is an very good starter guitar for anyone learning and wants a sound instrument with decent hardware and overall good sound packing some nice factory humbuckers. Once minor set up is done, the guitar stays in tune and will provide a nice punch using either a solid state or tube amp... however, if you are a professional or someone who is accustomed to playing higher end Squires or Fenders, this guitar will not make you happy in its factory state [neck was unfinished a bit, tremolo very low cost, rosewood finger board not finished, frets a bit thin and not sanded well]... So, I gutted this guitar as I wanted a BASSWOOD body, never really found often in strat types from Fender, Squire... I finished the neck with a nice amber high gloss coating, added a brass tremolo bridge set with roller saddles, changed the pick up structure from HH to standard SSS strat, new pick-guard, [I knew the inside routing would be done to allow this], changed the tuning to GOTOH style precision machines, pickups are now vintage style hot pups [took them out of another of my guitars] with Solen French Fast caps and CTS Guitar rated Pots [kept these at 500K for brighter sound]... well, this is not a conventional strat but it is totally a killer guitar which costs much less than a Fender would but has my desired BASSWOOD tone [high end guitars use BASSWOOD too].. which works great for hard rock and metal sounds.. Squire is worth the pain here.... get one, get some!
