Schecter Guitar Research

One of Schecter's hottest from the early '80s is back.

The Schecter PT Electric Guitar is a remake of one of Schecter's hottest guitars from the early '80s. Originally a custom guitar, the PT is now available to more musicians as part of the Schecter Diamond Series.

The PT-Standard guitar has a creme bound alder body of traditional shape, bolt-on rock maple neck (25-1/2" scale), maple fingerboard with dot inlays. 2 tapped Duncan Designed Superock humbucker pickups lay down thick and meaty tones, or give you jangly single-coil sounds when tapped. The Schecter PT-Standard is one of the more versatile guitars around.

Grover Tuners
ROTOMATICS WITH 18:1 GEAR RATIO (102-18 SERIES) The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination

Fingerboard
Very bright and dense, Maple is highly reflective. When used on a fretboard, Maple encourages tremendous amounts of higher overtones and its tight, almost filtered away bass favors harmonics and variations in pick attack.

Schecter SuperRock II Pickups
Made with giant sized Alnico-V pole pieces give this pickup an aggressive midrange growl. The well balanced coil winding make this pickup perfect for a wide range of styles of music. Great vintage tone in Single coil mode when Push-Pull knob is pulled up.

Maple neck
Maple has a uniform grain, it' strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a mahogany body

PT-H Bridge
This Hardtail bridge is designed with a 'String Thru' body and Humbucker spacing for optimum sound.

Tele-style H/H Setup that Rocks!

By

from East Coast, USA

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research PT Electric Guitar:

I wanted an H/H setup in a Tele-style guitar with Fender specs: 25.5-inch scale, 22 jumbo frets, bolt-on neck, flattop, in-line tuners and simplified controls - AND - I didn't want to pay Fender prices for it. Well, I found what I was looking for in the Schecter PT Standard. Aside from being a real head-turner, the Schecter PT Standard has been built to last (the lifetime warranty proves it) and can rock your world, right out of the box!

Worth the money

By

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research PT Electric Guitar:

My last guitar was an 88 Fender Strat Plus that for me defined the word perfection, but being a die hard Who fan, I always wanted a schecter tele. I played an original PT, and this one plays just as good if not better than that one did. I love my 2006 PT. It plays awesome, it sounds awesome, and creates every tone imaginable. To find a guitar of this caliber from fender or gibson, you will spend no less than $900. I used to hate GHS Boomers for strings, but the ones that came on this guitar have rocked my world. Definately a purchase I'd be willing to make again.

Well worth the money

By

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research PT Electric Guitar:

All through high school I was playing on a then new and state of the art Fender Strat Plus, an outstanding professional grade guitar. Being a big fan of the Who, I always wanted a Schecter Tele with the tapped humbuckers. Now I have the guitar that I've always wanted. This guitar plays like a professional grade guitar, and anything about this guitar that is not professional grade, it would be purely cosmetic and out of view to anyone but the player. If you buy this guitar, you are getting as good a guitar as the other manufacturers are selling for twice the price.

Amazing Guitar

By

from Denver, CO

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research PT Electric Guitar:

I have toured with PRS, Jackson, and Fender guitars, and have now switched to Schecter after buying 2 of these guitars. My first is the standard PT, and I have a PT Elite (no longer available), and they will hang with my lead singers Les Paul in the humbucker position, and take any tele I've ever played in the Split mode. Plus, it just looks classically cool. The neck feels great, and Schecter customer service is great to deal with. What a guitar
