Rickenbacker 620

By

Comments about Rickenbacker 620 Electric Guitar:

I have liked Rickenbacker products since the mid-1960(s) and have wanted to own one or more; however, had not taken the opportunity until this time in my life. I have to say this has become one of my favorite guitars for both rhythm and lead guitar work, especially in a studio set-up. The overall quality/workmanship is second to none and this includes the body style, easy accessibility to the upper fretboard register as well as the pick-up tones that can be dialed in. There have been many who say the "fifth" blend knob does not do that much for the tonal color; however, I noticed that it does indeed blend the pick-up tones, especially when the volume is pumped. If I had one criticism, it would be that there are not 22 frets ... 21 is good, but that kept me from giving it the 10 rating. To remedy that, I replaced the stock strings with an "8" (E) and "11" (B). For lead work, I still hold my 1999 '61 reissue Gibson SG as my number one axe; however, I have to say this solid-body Ric 620 can hold it's own and gives me other tones other than the aforementioned SG.

Ask me a question

Comments about Rickenbacker 620 Electric Guitar:

I have been playing Les Pauls and Strats for 20 years. I have held a few Ric's and finally decided to buy one. This has to be one of the finest sounding guitars I have ever played.
The thing is built solid, and plays like a dream fast, fast rosewood neck.
Been told by my friends that this is the best guitar they have ever played....

Comments about Rickenbacker 620 Electric Guitar:

This is an amazing guitar, you know it right away at the time you hold it in your hands. The finish and the sound makes it the best guitar you can get for the money... Once you go rick, you never go back...

Not worth the wait, but good.

Comments about Rickenbacker 620 Electric Guitar:

This particular model, a solid body 620, is actually a great sounding piece of work. It gives you the Ric sound, but with added beef. One would expect a hollowbody to sound bulkier than this, but this is one thick sounding sucker. My problem is the wait to own one of these if you order one from Rickenbaker: Up to two years! No thank you. If I buy that expensive guitar, I want it in my hands now.
