Gibson Songwriter Acoustic 12-String Guitar

from Munich, Germany

Comments about Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Modern Classic 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased the Gibson Songwriter 12-string after looking at models from Guild, Taylor and Martin. I am very happy with this purchase overall.

Likes: Beautiful rosewood back and sides, fantastic build quality including fit and finish, excellent full bodied sound, stays in tune well - and the price was really great!

Dislikes: I tried using the built in pickup to record using ProTools. I could hear much more bass than treble (using a Focusrite ISA One preamp) and a whole lot of string and fret buzz. I would say the pickup would not be useful for recording, but may sound OK through an amp designed for acoustic guitar. Also, the action came set too high - I will be lovering that at some point in the future.

This is my second Gibson acoustic (I also have the Songwriter Deluxe) and I can say Gibson still builds great guitars in Bozeman, MT.
