A cool guitar with a one-of-a-kind style, rocking tones, and excellent playability.

The AXL Badwater SRO Electric Guitar has a light-weight double-cutaway alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The guitar's deep recessed neck joint offers superior access to the upper register. This unusual AXL guitar is equipped with EMG-designed pickups for hard rocking tones and clean delivery. An anodized tremolo invites your dive-bombing pleasure.

With a distressed body and antiqued hardware, AXL Badwater Series guitars have the look and feel of ancient artifacts. Even the headstock and backplate have vintage distressing. No area was spared the treatment. The Badwater Series has received Guitar World's December 2007 Gold Award for overall value.

The crackle brown and white body finish has a reptilian texture throughout. The off-white finish has a rusted, phantom-like appearance. The brown finish AXL guitar has the look of a museum-quality guitar stored away for decades. The crackle blue finish looks like it was pulled from deep on the ocean floor. The crackle black finish evokes the texture of a guitar blackened and burned by lightning. Case sold separately.

Nice Affordable Guitar

from Runnells, Iowa

Comments about Axl Badwater SRO Electric Guitar:

First, I'm just a novice guitarist, not an expert in music at all. This was my second guitar after an Ibanez RG3. The allure to me was the price point of this guitar. I wanted to take an electric guitar apart to see how these amazing things work. The price was less than half of my first guitar. So the purchase was made... Now this is an entry level guitar, no question. All of the Chinese guitars look pretty, so it comes down to quality of components, fit/feel, and sound quality in these. My expectations were met in all three areas. Again I'm not a pro musician or anything, but I'm very satisfied with this purchase. I've gotten other guitars since, that I love also, but I take this SRO with me in the car to work,on trips etc. Dents, dings, scratches? So what! look at it... It's the guitar version of a Rat Rod. Just enjoy it , learn to play and don't fuss about the finish. Just love it to death, that is what these things are made for!!! P.S. The tuners are poopy on mine, I do have to tune a little more than I'd like...

Looks CAN Be Deceiving.

from Compton, CA

Comments about Axl Badwater SRO Electric Guitar:

It is very typical for a guitar like this to come along and grab someones attention as it did mine. I noticed its cool body shape as well as its pickup configuration which suits me perfectly. Most of all I noticed how cool looking of a guitar this was. With its distressed look and aged parts made this guitar such a unique piece. So unique that I was intrigued for days before actually trying it out. When I did however, I was not surprised. I will say that the company did a great job on its physical features especially the neck. I noticed the neck had great feel and most importantly absolute 0 fret drag. That's awesome! However, if there is one thing that totally turns me off about guitars in this price range its.....yup... you guessed it....the tuning heads. I found myself constantly tuning this guitar whilst playing which was a big disappointment. So much to the point that as much as I enjoyed playing it, I just had to hang it back up. Needless to say that the guitar even felt cheap in my hands although the pickups were fairly impressive. I rated this guitar 2 stars by giving it the benefit of the doubt. Although I would highly recommend this guitar for any beginner, as far as consumers looking for quality in this price range....keep searching.
