A precision shaker.
Percussionist Daniel de los Reyes invented One Shot Shakers with their single internal striking surface. When shaken, they only produce sound upon forward motion, unlike ordinary shakers that produce rebound sounds from multiple striking surfaces. This one-shot design with its crisp sound lets you produce multiple, complex rhythms that would be impossible with a conventional shaker.

Comments about LP442 One Shot Shakers:
At first you think you are ordering a shaker but this is a very different animal. Sounds much different than your normal shaker. The shake is very fast and very intense. It is more of a quick 'crack' than a 'shake' sound. You can knock out complex and accurate bell patterns with these. I also like it in combination with a Maraca. You can get a nice shake sound out of the maraca in one hand and throw some sharp and accurate accents in with the One-Shot in the other. It is also much better than a traditional shaker if you are playing it with one hand and a drum or better yet a bell or a block with the other. Overall I think its a really good thing to have in your bag, but don't expect a regular shaker sound because you're not going to get one.
