The seminal second album from heavy rock legends featuring three of their most iconic tracks.
Starting with Sabbath's eponymous 1970 debut, the menacing and masterful music of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward laid the blueprint for heavy metal. Throughout the '70s, this stellar original lineup--whose signature sound fused crushing minor-key intensity, indelible riffs, and a blues-rock foundation--delivered eight landmark albums. "Paranoid" is mastered from the original analog tapes and is pressed on 180-gram heavy vinyl. Includes original gatefold jacket.
The original lineup of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, four childhood friends from the north of England-grew out of the UK's late-60s blues/hard rock scene, which also included Led Zeppelin, Cream, Blue Cheer, and other greats. Sabbath's sweeping and masterful metamorphosis away from that tradition spawned heavy metal music, inventing the template for everything that would follow. With crushing rhythms, torpedo riffs, haunting songs, and Ozzy's other-worldly vocals, the band conjured a dark, menacing, and resonant sound that reverberates still.
