A synth engine that performs fluid glissandos, and creates oscillator like synthesizer effects.

The Electro-Harmonix Superego Synth Engine effects pedal is a new and unique product that combines elements of sampling, synthesis and infinite sustain. The Superego allows you to freeze sound, gliss between frozen tones, layer sounds and place an external effects loop on only the effect. In addition, the Superego can detect new notes or chords and sustain them automatically without requiring you to step on the footswitch. It even lets you tweak attack and decay, or use its effects loop to invent novel synth patches.

The Superego has three modes: Latch, Momentary and Auto. A toggle switch at the center of the Superego chooses between the three. Momentary mode is not labeled in the artwork; it is the center (or eye) position of the 3-position toggle switch.

  • Latch, Momentary and Auto modes
  • Speed/Layer, Gliss, Dry and Effect knobs
  • Footswitch
  • Toggle switch

Indulge your synth-ful desires.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Superego Synth Guitar Effects Pedal:

I purchased this effects pedal hoping to expand my library of live sounds. What I got was a paper weight. The designers had the right idea but poor execution. The Super ego is a feedback making flop. It does have a cool effect at low volume levels that help make it manageable to use. But once you turn up the volume even in the slightest, the chaos begins.Does it sound like a synth? No.Is the advertised effect actually work? Not really. Avoid this pedal and buy something else. If the thing was 50.00 I may have kept it.The hefty price tag is just not a sound investment.
