Great boost!

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Nano LPB-1 Power Booster Guitar Effects Pedal:

THis is a great pedal for live shows. I use it as a solo button but it also gives a characteristic fuzz at high volumes. It stays clean with softer playing and kicks up a bit when louder, so it great for all styles. Put it in front of distortion for a perfectly balanced overdrive. Perfect combo of clean and dirty response.

Straight-forward, Excellent Boost!

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Nano LPB-1 Power Booster Guitar Effects Pedal:

If you're a typical guitarist, chances are you don't really get into boosts until well after you've amassed various wahs, distortions, and all that other fun stuff. If you're a gigging musician, though, you need a boost. I play guitar in a rock trio, and I needed a way to boost my signal when playing solos. This pedal serves that function very well. I set the knob to about 25% and I place it after my distortion. When engaged in this fashion, the boost "thickens up" my tone. There's a significant volume boost, but there's also some added grit and maybe a slight bump in mids. Overall, though, it's pretty transparent, tonally. This makes a relatively seamless transition to the solo sections, and it really helps the guitar stand out in the mix. This pedal can also be used before your distortion pedal, but you won't get a volume boost that way. What will happen is your distortion will fuzz out even more, so that it sounds like your distortion is being cranked. This method also has lots of practical uses. It's a very simple pedal, and it's very sturdily-built. It's also true-bypass, which is always a good thing. My only complaint is that there's a very high amount of boost in the pedal, such that the most used setting I've found is only 25%. It would be nice to have more of a usable range, but then again, my style of music denotes my most used range of boost.

I really like it...

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Nano LPB-1 Power Booster Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal is simple and straight forward. I really like how it brightens up my sound (especially coupled with an EQ) and it also can add a little grit to my playing. At first I didn't really notice it as much but now it has become part of my "tone". It will make your little amp growl or purr depending on how you strike the strings. It's cool and durable and doesn't take up much space on a board. Get it!
