The ultimate in high-voltage tube distortion flexibility.

The HT-DUAL pedal from Blackstar's HT Range of tube overdrive pedals features true high-voltage (300V) circuitry and are packed with innovations and tone. The revolutionary, patent-applied-for tone-shaping feature ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) will redefine the tonal expectations of guitarists.

HT-DUAL pedal's Channel 1 has either Clean or Crunch modes so it can be used clean, as a boost or overdrive. Channel 2 gives distortion tones from super crunch right up to screaming lead. The unique switching operation will transform a single channel vintage amp into a 3-channel tone machine. The ISF control takes you from 'British Valve' to 'Modern American' and anywhere in-between.

Add to this the no-compromise, speaker-emulated output and you have the most cost-effective way of getting real tube tones direct to disk or tape.

Pure Tube Distortion
The HT-DUAL has high voltage tube design for true tube dynamics and feel. 2 cascaded ECC83 triode stages for gain from warm boost to screaming lead. Enhanced tone network for massive tonal flexibility with traditional passive network musicality. Patent-Applied-For ISF control allows access to infinite new sounds. Emulated output is a new benchmark design for pro direct recording sounds. High-integrity bypass for silent switching and driving long cables.

So whether you're playing live or recording, with the HT Range of pedals you can finally get the sound you want.

Good pedal.

from Buckley, Washington

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-DUAL Tube Dual Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I'm using it on the crunch channel of my DSL50 amp gain at 5. This pedal is very articulate when soloing. Notes are round and clear with good sustain. So far I have 3 settings I like using. 1. Clean setting on the pedal gain maxed volume maxed EQ'd to taste. ISF dial to taste. Good blues crunch tone. 2. Crunch setting on pedal gain at 3'oclock and volume at 4'oclock/maxed and EQ/ISF set to taste. Rock to heavy rock tone. 3. Red channel on pedal gain at 11 'oclock volume at 4 'oclock and EQ/ISF set to taste. Meaty heavy tone, but manageable feedback level. I found the pedal really came to life when the volume on it was at 3'oclock and up. Tone really thickens up. Guitar roll off is decent. The pedal does have bite to it so it may sound unforgiving at times. I have changed the tube in it to a Ruby 12AX7AC5 and feel its a little warmer and has better feel. Not necessary to do but I know how to and have tubes to experiment with. Read manual about opening the grill. Works well with my Marshall. I like it for the tones its giving me.

Nice but noisy

from Cleveland OH

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-DUAL Tube Dual Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Pros: Great tube distortion, very tweekable, built like a tank. Doesn't suck your tone when dis-engaged. Cons: Expensive and noisy when effect is engaged. Clean/Crunch setting has to be changed w/ finger, not foot. Gain/level settings are easily lost due to knobs being stacked. The HT is a great pedal in terms of overdrive and distortion, but the feedback noise on channel 2 is out of control. I had to buy a HUSH pedal to quiet the HT...and there is still a lot of noise. The noise when using single coils is almost unbearable. The HT is a bit quieter w/ humbuckers (as I would expect) but there is still an annoying amount of feedback.

Blackstar HT Series HT-DUAL

from Manchesyer, NH

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-DUAL Tube Dual Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I purchased this unit to replace my Mesa Boogie V Twin preamp pedal that was out for repair. I like this Blackstar every bit as much and it is half the cost. It sounds like the MB with the tube complement and the Blackstar has a more common sense operation. It also has another feature where it has 2 modes of saturation as well as the 2 levels of distortion. However, the saturation modes are not foot-switchable. It also has a tone-like knob in addition to the eq controls. This allows for the coloration of the sound to be Marshal like or more Mesa. This is a great pedal. The only concern I have is that it is made in Korea, I do not know if it will provide 15 years of almost trouble free daily use as has the V Twin.
