Comments about Ampeg Heritage Series SVT-410HLF 2011 4x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet 500W:
This is a professional grade cabinet, with gobs of low end if you dial it up. The sound is classic ampeg, with the additional feature of a great full low end that is shaped better than any other cabinet ive toured with. The eminence speakers sound great, and being able to roll in the amount of horn needed makes the cab very flexible for all different stages. I tour professionally with a country artist, on the road over 180 shows a year, and need a reliable, great sounding, and flexible cabinet for the variable stages I play. I can get a nice grindy midrange thump if using a gk head, or a nice tubey tone using an ampeg svt cl. I cant over emphesize the fact the low end is so full and tight without losing its shape even with a five string thumpin! And its reliable, sounding the same outdoors, indoors, hot or cold. I do some shows in an acoustic setting, just myself and the guitarist/singer, without foh for bass. This cab produces the sound I need in these small intimate settings just as well as the bigger stages to supplement my IEM's. It just does its job night after night. The only downfall regarding this great cabinet is the tolex, which can tear easily if roughly handled. Mine resides in a live-in road case, which takes the beating of the road. I dont notice the weight, which at 70 lbs is very compatible with the current cabs on the market these days. I switched back to ampeg after a long stint with gk cabs, and have never been happier. This cab is built to be played, and does so night after night.
