Still a Bad Design

from Killeen, TX

Comments about Protec PRO PAC Bassoon Case:

This case looks well made, but the major "re"design flaw (in my mind) is that the heaviest joint of the bassoon is still at the top of the case when it is stood on its side. This is an invitation to the case being unstable when knocked and keys being bent when it falls. I agree with another reviewer that there still is inadequate means of keeping the joints in place inside. You will find yourself paying a lot to get keys straightened and rods adjusted if you put your horn in here for frequent travel.

Well, it's cheap

from Midwest

Comments about Protec PRO PAC Bassoon Case:

I purchased this case because I was preparing to travel on a plane, and did not trust my soft-case gigbag, which I regularly use, for airport travelling. I had a limited budget and needed it quick, so I bought this case based on the price and the description on the site. I don't know if I'm just slow, but the wing joint has no support or brace in this case. The long joint and the boot are tightly wedged in between some foam, but the wing joint just floats around on two props inside. When you close the case and pick it up, the wing falls down and rolls around inside. I'm not happy with this at all right now.
