It isn't just about flexibility; it's about bending the note 'til it rings true.

Martin SP Flexible Core strings have a thin, but strong core wire and a thicker wrap wire, which allows them to be flexible and easy on the fingers while holding standard tension. SP Flexible Core strings feel soft to the touch, making them ideal for beginners. But don't be fooled by comfort! Just ask Tommy Emmanuel, who performs with Martin's SP Flexible Core strings night after night. With SP Flexible Core, you get total flexibility and total control.

Flexible Core strings by Martin must be experienced...

Comments about Martin FX740 SP Flexible Core Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

When I read Martin was producing a 'flexible' core all steel string I was skeptical concerning tension and issues with capo's. The price and my curiosity overcame my doubts and I ordered a few sets of FX740 Phosopher Bronze 12's. It was a nice surprise and I quickly ordered a dozen more. They stay tuned, are easy on the fingers and fretboard, great tone and overtones when amped are bold! Even when I double capo the harmonics are right on pitch... Get some - Play Happy at a Great Price!
I have used composite 'silk & steel' strings for over 20 years on my 68 Martin Brazilian D35 12string and for 10 years on my Heritage 355 acoustic electric. I love the warm rich tones and easy fingering.
