Engineered for optimum performance in a sleek design.

With its light weight and low profile, the G7th Newport allows for fast, accurate capoing with fine tune adjustment - in position - on the fretboard of your instrument. An advancement on existing designs, the Newport's refined adjustment means that only the right amount of pressure needs be applied to clamp the strings - dramatically improving tuning problems and without the loss of sustain associated with the thick rubber of other capos. Its classic G7th styling will also look great on your guitar.

Comments about G7th Newport 12 String Guitar Capo:

This promises a new material to work on 12-strings which provide a dissimilar string height and diameter due to octave strings on the E through G strings.

Its only drawback is the 'travel' of the compression mechanism. With the adjustment screw fully in it does not provide enough leverage to completely compress the strings to the frets on my RainSong 12 string thus rendering it completely ineffective. I would imagine on a Taylor and other very thin necks the same thing would occur.

I padded the bottom 'tongue' with various materials and can make it work, and then the 'new material' of the compression surface actually works very well - so on a fat neck like a Washburn (c-neck) this might be a great device.

However for the price (compared to a Shub or other 12-string specific capo) I would label this as having poor design qualities (needs a bigger opening and longer adjustment screw) and cannot give it a good rating nor recommend it.

Comments about G7th Newport 12 String Guitar Capo:

Purchased this at Music 123 a couple of weeks ago. I have tried many common surface capos but they often do not provide adequate pressure on the higher octave strings on a 12-string. This includes a 'famous' Shub. This promised a different material on the fingerboard contact surface.

In fact, this new surface does work remarkably well. However with the adjustment screw all the way in, it does not 'pinch' hard enough to get a clean sound out of any of the strings on my Rain Song 12-string. It works fine on my Ovation. The reason I know its new material works well is I padded the back clamp with various materials until I could get an adequate 'bite'.

I am really tempted to return it, but it works so well when padded. I'm trying to find the right diameter 'fuel hose' to put over the back clamp as a permanent fix.

Summary, works well, but not on thin necks.
