BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY

Comments about Yamaha 5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece:

This is not a review on this mouthpiece so much as it is a review of this company. I ordered a Bari Lig and mouthpiece form them and only the lig came then when I called to inquire about it they said it wasn't in stock eventhough the web site said it was. So I requested a refund and it took these people 2 and a half weeks to refund my money. At fist thay said it would be 24 hours then three days and then a week so not only do they not know what the are talking about but they lie as well. I did eventually get my money back but not before enduring some intense agravation and atroushous customer service. So do yourself a favor if your tinking of ordering anything from these people don't. Go to musician's friend friend where the have half a clue of what there doing.

Good student mouthpiece

By rebellion117

from Lakeland, FL USA

Comments about Yamaha 5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I've been playing the bari for about 7 years now, and use this mouthpiece as my concert mouthpiece, as I don't have enough money to buy a true professional hard rubber piece. Playing a YBS-52 and using Vandoren 3 1/2 reeds, a Rovner Dark ligature, and an extremely tall mouth and open throat, I'm able to get a nice, beautiful tone. My band director has even said that he likes my tone better than that of a friend of his, who's a pro bari player.

Ok beginner mouthpiece

By Jonathan King

from east of San Francisco, CA

Comments about Yamaha 5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I'm a serious 16 year old bari player. When I bought my new YBS-62, I was more than a little disappointed to find a plastic mouthpiece on a professional bari sax. But, after playing with it for a while, I found that I truly liked the mouthpiece. Though it does not give out the same tone quality as my Meyer, it has a truly relaxed feel to it that I like. I would recommend this to anyone who is on a budget and in it for the fun of playing. Its by far the best mouthpiece for the price!

Worth a try by everyone.

By Bill Lott

from Florida

Comments about Yamaha 5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I'm a music major in college with a focus on saxophone. I started playing bari on a Vandoren B35, long story short, it was broken in a moving accident. Being a student, short one funds, and needing a mouthpiece for classical use I turned to a Yamaha 5C for a quick replacement. Once I played this all of the bad feelings and thoughts of playing a Yamaha student mouthpiece as I studied with some of the most serious players around went away. The sound quality and tone is hardly different of my old B35, even a professor of mine has commented on the great sound. Also remember its not just the mouthpiece that gives you a good sound, its truly how you use it.

very good mouthpiece

By Alyssa Nail

Comments about Yamaha 5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I am an alto sax player for marching band and concert band. I've been in jazz band for three years now and this year my band director said he needed another Bari sax player. Having never played the bari sax in my life, I volunteered to try it. The bari sax I use through the school had this mouthpiece on it. From the first time I played on it, I knew it was a very good mouthpiece. It had a very clear, loud and beautiful sound. I would recommend this mouthpiece to any bari sax beginner.

Good mouthpiece

By Bradley J. Esau

from Central islip, NY

Comments about Yamaha 5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece:

Intonation is very good with this mouthpiece. My band teacher has this mouthpiece and when we play together, it sounds like one bari sax. It is also easy to play altissimo notes. Whether you are a student, advanced or professional, don't over look this mouthpiece.

This is the beginner mouthpiece to use!

By Neil Johnson

from Vermont, USA

Comments about Yamaha 5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece:

Having played this mouthpiece, I would definitely recommend it for a student player on someone on a budget. Good sound, plays well, very affordable. My next choice or step up would be a Selmer 80 C*
