Good

Comments about Yamaha 4C Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

This mouthpiece is decent. in fact I was pretty surprised at how good the sound is for it to be a standard. The ligature it came with is not good if you get this mouthpiece I recommend using a different ligature.

Upgrade to a Hite for 10$

By Joe-YCTit

from Kansas

Comments about Yamaha 4C Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

The Yamaha mouthpiece is very good for beginners, although very quickly, you will be wishing for a more dignified sound. It has it's good days and it's bad days, and lately, most of my experiences with it have been bad. I find that if you can put a really good rico royal reed and a vinson ligature, it actually sounds good. Also, it tends to give good response with a Alexander Superial Reed. As beginners often don't use Alexanders cause of their price, they won't find a good sound. This mouthpiece is great for beginners, but lacks the sax sound that makes you want to practice. I recommended upgrading to the hite premier, and then possibly a selmer C or Larry Teal. Overall, it is a good run for the money, but no good sax sound. A good mpc for the 1st or Second year player.

Great basic mouthpiece

By Joe-Ob5Sn

Comments about Yamaha 4C Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

This is just a general utility mouthpiece, and it serves this purpose beautifully. I have played the 4C in jazz, classical, and marching, and it has served me well. It is no Meyer, but it is still a good mouthpiece. I would recommend it to any player on a budget.

adaquate

Comments about Yamaha 4C Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I find this mouthpiece to be sufficient enough as is right now. I do, however, hope to get a new mouthpiece because it won't work forever.

Good Starter Mouthpiece

By Leslie

from Detroit Area

Comments about Yamaha 4C Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I used this mouthpiece on my switch from clarinet to tenor sax, and the notes just come out. Never are you struggling to get a note out, like my old Bundy mouthpiece. However, I give this mouthpiece 4 stars, because it is a cheap mouthpiece, and you can buy much better mouthpieces, if you are the more serious player. Overall, beginners will love this mouthpiece, but intermediate and above players will not, because of the tone quality that is featured on other mouthpieces.
