I love these reeds. Just switched from riggoti 2.5 hard 3 strong, to these and they are great. Very consistent, Uniformly filed, and the grains are for the most part very even.

I am a professional musician and rarely ever take the time to write a review about a product (so listen up). I have had great success with these reeds, using a Mark VI Tenor + Jody Jazz mouthpiece. I go through a lengthy process with reeds on a monthly basis, always trying out new products and adding new reeds to my rotation. My process includes using several types of reeds, but not looking at the back to see what specifically it is until after my final decisions are made regarding which reeds are worthy. After 4 months the Java Reds are taking up 8 out of the 10 spots in my rotation of gig reeds (I try at least 2 different boxes a month and also order a 3rd box of reeds that I know will work for me). I find these reeds to last long and retain their individual playing characteristics. I highly recommend giving a box of these a try, you may find out for yourself that they work their way into your reed box for gigs too.

Reeds are the most difficult component of musician's set up to find them satisfactory. I was very surprised when tried first box of Java Red on my Link 7 and Selmer MarkVII tenor. I even more surprised after ordering another two boxes. 1. Java Red combine nice reach and warm tone with flexibility in bottom register. 2. Consistently 3-4 reeds in box of 5 work well for me. So far I switched from Rico jazz select to the new brand. I hope they will stay good.
