The Pro's Choice
Offering a deeper tone, more even intonation and tone color through out the range of the instrument, the new and innovative Series III Alto Saxophone has quickly moved to the forefront of professional altos.Reducing the size and weight of the ribs (the body plates supporting the posts) by 30% results in a more free vibration of the instrument and enhanced resonance. The angle of the neck, copying that of the fabled MARK VI, redirects the airflow and mouthpiece position to enhance response. Kik pads provide an airtight seal. Rivet-less metal tone boosters result in projection without buzz or distortion.Offering a deeper tone, more even intonation and tone color through out the range of the instrument, the new and innovative Series III Alto Saxophone has quickly moved to the forefront of professional altos.

Comments about Selmer Paris Series III Model 62 Alto Saxophone:
Let me preface this by saying I have played Alto saxophone semi pro and amateur for over 45 years. I have owned Conn and Selmer both and currently own a vintage balanced action 1938 Dorsey Selmer. I bought the Series III because I was getting worried about value and irreplaceable nature of the Dorsey. The Series III is just flat perfect. Easy to play and in tune. The new key for middle C# is outstanding and the keyboard is typical balanced action with the modern layout and feel. Great for fast chromatic runs or crooning. If you are looking for a new pro level sax, look long and hard at this one. It will be hard to beat!
