Classical Mouthpiece
Comments about Selmer Paris S90 Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
I use this for a classical mouthpiece and I couldn't be happier. I have tried some other mouthpieces, but I find that my S90 190 gives me a very even tone throughout all registers. I use a Vandoren blue box reeds and a Charles Bay ligature. Some ligatures do not fit this mouthpeice too well, so be advised. I found the Bay to be a perfect match for my setup. I am currently looking into S90s for my other saxophone setups - tenor and baritone.

Great For multi-genre players
Comments about Selmer Paris S90 Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
I bought my Selmer about two years ago and am very happy with its sound. I changed from an S80 C** to the S90 looking for a brighter sound that can be useful not only in concert band, but also in jazz ensembles and have been amazed at the difference in my tone quality and intonation it has brought. This MP is great for the beginner or intermediate player looking for a sound that can fit with ultimately any genre. Also a good choice for the professional who wants a good MP that has medium brightness, medium to high volume, and excellent intonation for a reasonable price. I would not recommend this mouthpiece however to those of you who have the monetary resources to buy separate MP's for jazz and classical as I have found the Selmer Paris Lavry Teal MP to be very good for classical and the Selmer SS to be exceptional for jazz.

wow
Comments about Selmer Paris S90 Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
I have used an s90-180 mouthpiece ever since my freshman year in high school and now 4 years later it is still my favorite mouthpiece I have tried. My jazz director even has told me I get a good full sound on it. It is kind of bright, but that is the sound I like. I would recommend this mouthpiece for any kind of playing. It is the only piece I use.

Good for starters...
Comments about Selmer Paris S90 Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
For the first six years of playing the saxophone, I used the S-90. It's a great mouthpiece. It responds well, and it's very versatile. If you're a serious player though, this piece isn't for you. For jazz, the S-90 is too constricting to play regularly on and it's a tad too bright for the dedicated classical player. Although the reed, ligature, sax, and the person behind the piece are important factors, I've found that the middle register sounds edgy and awkward at pianissimo volumes. It's a fine all-around mouthpiece, but if you want to focus on a particular genre, look for a piece built for that kind of music.

Wonderful Mouthpiece
Comments about Selmer Paris S90 Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
I purchased a Selmer S-90 (180) when I was in 9th grade back in 1994 after playing on a Siguard Rascher mouthpiece for a year. To date, this is the ONLY mouthpiece that I have played. I had no problem adjusting to playing it with my Vandoren 3.5s. (I've even been able to use it for the limited jazz playing that I do. With the right reeds, of course. I recommend this for ANY saxophone player, young or old. Though the C* is a good product, when asked, I encourage band directors to suggest the S-90 to all of their beginners so they'll never need another mouthpiece again.

Great!
Comments about Selmer Paris S90 Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
It is a great mouthpiece for quite frankly anyone. It will improve your tone greatly and even make some of the harder notes to get easier. I am a seventh grade alto sax player and it has been the best mouthpiece I have had yet.

Sounds Great
Comments about Selmer Paris S90 Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
I have had a S90-180 for about two months now. It is very easy to get used to. I was used to it the second day I got it. It has a great sound. I like to play on it with a Rovner-Dark ligature. For the great price on WWBW, I think this is an awesome mouthpiece.

The S90 and S80 are great mouthpieces.
Comments about Selmer Paris S90 Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
The S90 Selmer Paris mouthpieces are great. I own an S90 180 and love it. The sound and response are great. This much like the S80 only with a larger chamber and made of a lighter hard rubber. This is a great mouthpiece for classical music.
