The RicoReed Vitalizer Kit offers maintenance-free reed storage. Kit includes a sealable storage bag with one Humidipak. The patented Humidipak technology uses 2-way humidity control to keep your reed tips flat and prevent cracking and warping. Available in 3 humidity levels: 73% for everyday use, 58" for longer storage, and 84% for keeping reeds well moistened. Reed Vitalizer control packs will last 45-60 days. When the pack becomes hard, discard and replace with a refill pack.

I used this over the winter, and I really think it helps stabilize my reeds. I used the two higher humidity levels, and both worked for me with no mold problems. I experimented using the packets in other containers as well. The packets will break down if you put them in regular freezer bags. Works ok in the newer Vandoren reed case, but not as well as in the Reedvitalizer bag. Unfortunately, I managed to rip open my Reedvitalizer bag, so I am having to buy a new one. I wish the bags were sturdier and came in different sizes.

I used one this past summer with excellent results. It really works and makes reed management quite simple - I kept my reeds in a LaVoz Reedgard while in the pack. The "ready to play" humidity level lasted about a month before I lost my reeds to a wave of mold. Perfect if you're willing to take care of your reeds and keep buying new humidipaks.

Using the 73% model for about 6 weeks and it is a time saver. I play every day and the reeds are almost ready to be used and only require little wetting. I've had no problems with mold! I recommend this product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will save you time. Oh yea, the clear package makes it easy to find the particular reed you want to use.
