Plasticover Tenor Reeds
Comments about Rico Plasticover Tenor Saxophone Reeds:
I have played the plasticover reeds from the day they orginally came out in the mid-80's. I usually purchased the beri sax reeds because they would fit my bass clarinet for concert band, my tenor for jazz band and beri for marching band. It was a reed I could always rely on for exceptional sound and be reliable. I never had to worry about cracking or warped reeds as long as you store them appropriately. I started play with a Philadelphia Mummer's band and was having trouble w/ normal wood reeds cracking and warping due to the excessive humidity. I went in my old sax gear from high school and pulled out my last of the plasticover reeds. For sitting in storage (15yrs) they played awesome and held up to the task as if they were right out of a brand new box. When you can find them jump on them! They are now hard to find. If you live on the east coast I would recommend them, especially when playing outside like I do in prefessional performances. Nothng like humidity to distroy a reed quickly! With the high prices of reeds. It's an aswesome bang for the buck!

The Rico Plasticover Reed
Comments about Rico Plasticover Tenor Saxophone Reeds:
Normally I don't write reviews, but this time is an exception. The Rico Plasticover reed is a great buy. The response you get from the reed from the time you start playing is amazing. I have been playing sax for over 43 years and have tried a lot of reeds, but I keep coming back to this one. I can just start playing with no warm up time and wetting the reed, etc...and the tone is just what the doctor ordered. They also out last other reed by a long shot. I highly recommend this reed.
