    More durable alto saxophone reed

    By momtomusickid

Comments about Rico Plasticover Alto Saxophone Reeds:

We have the Rico Plasticover Alto Saxophone strength 2 reeds. They last a little longer than the Rico orange box reeds. The Plasticover reeds also seem to produce a louder sound. I would recommend Plasticover over the Rico orange box reeds for its durability. My child did say that the new Plasticover reeds has a plastic taste at the beginning. Recently, we also tried the Fibracell synthetic strength 2 reed. My child thinks that the Fibracell reed is the best reed among the 3 we had tried. The Fibracell reed is louder, sounds better, and makes playing much easier.

    Great Product!

Comments about Rico Plasticover Alto Saxophone Reeds:

I bought these for my son who plays alto saxophone in his school band. My son is in elementary. These reeds are much more durable than traditional wooden reeds. The plastic cover is an excellent protector! I highly recommend these reeds.
