A Few Drawbacks
Comments about Rico Padgard Tenor Saxophone Swab:
This item is great for keeping the sax dry when you aren't playing it, but I must say that the fibers that are released when shoving-in/removing are a little bit annoying. Its not "risky" like one of the reviewers said, but it does lead to some ugly junk in the keywork. But I mean, if you already frequently clean your instrument, it really shouldn't be an issue. Just one more thing to look out for when you are using a Q-tip.

After 20 Years . . .
Comments about Rico Padgard Tenor Saxophone Swab:
I've used the same "shove it" pad saver for the last 20 years across three different horns. I play 3-4 times a week, plus practice, etc. and have never had to replace a pad.

Great idea, keeps my tenor clean!
Comments about Rico Padgard Tenor Saxophone Swab:
I bought one of these about three months ago in the place of a swab. I've had no pad problems since, and would recomend this product to any student who takes his/her instrument welfare seriously. Only problem I had was the end cap on the product didn't exactly fit into my yamaha case, but I coaxed it in.
