Great case, but why the separate backpack add-on?
Comments about Protec ProPac Contoured Tenor Saxophone Case:
Overall, I think this tenor sax case is great. My horn fit in perfectly and it seems very well protected. It's a great switch from my hard case, where the only carrying option was the handle on the top. It also takes up less room, and I can slip my reeds into a separate pocket so I always know where they are (previously everything was just stuffed into the one open compartment in the hard case). The case would have gotten 5 stars, except that the piece to convert the case into a backpack is sold separately and is fairly expensive for what it is? I don't understand why ProTec couldn't have included this with the case, as it does include a shoulder strap.

Great Case
Comments about Protec ProPac Contoured Tenor Saxophone Case:
This is a great case. I had an old beat up case before, and it was really heavy. The protec contoured case is light and protects the horn well. It also has a lock hole. It is a great deal for the price.

Excellent Case
Comments about Protec ProPac Contoured Tenor Saxophone Case:
I got one of these cases for my birthday and I absolutely love it. My Yamaha tenor fits a little snugly, but I figure that its probably better off like that. The neckpiece slot is a nice added touch, and so is the mouthpiece slot, which I don't believe that has been mentioned in any of the reviews. The case is very solid, I have actually used it as a makeshift chair at the occasional football game. The flute pocket is a nice touch for the woodwind specialist. I highly recommend this case.

Good Case Overall
Comments about Protec ProPac Contoured Tenor Saxophone Case:
I really like the contemporary look of this case, and recently bought one for both my alto and tenor. Lots of nice storage, including interior compartments for the neck and mouthpiece. The interior padding/lining is very plush but durable. On the outside, there is a large pocket for accesories, which is great. You don't usually find this in a contoured case. I also like the fact that these cases come with a decent shoulder strap and luggage tag. Not crazy about the size and feel of the nylon Velcro handles (especially on the tenor case)--it tends to bunch up a bit due to the weight of the instrument. Finally, the exterior zippers provide some nice security, although the black finish wears off at the contact points quickly.

Great!
Comments about Protec ProPac Contoured Tenor Saxophone Case:
This is the perfect case for any sax player. I play a Selmer Series 2 Super Action 80, and found that it is perfect for lugging it to school and back. Heavy, but lighter than the Selmer cases. Everything stays in place, but if you worry about scratches the way I do, you are going to have to be really careful lifting it out of the case. My one complaint is the inability to carry music from one place to another. I have to carry my music in my hand or backpack. Other than that, it will stand up to pretty much anything! I found that it is perfect after gigs, or concerts, when you have to carry the instrument home... it's really nice then!

like other design
Comments about Protec ProPac Contoured Tenor Saxophone Case:
I prefer the Pro Tec case that is square. It is easier to load when loading an equipment trailer.

Not a bad case.
Comments about Protec ProPac Contoured Tenor Saxophone Case:
I've owned this case for a few years. It gives good protection. The case, with horn in it, has been dropped without any damage to the horn. It's now tearing out around the stitching and looking bad. I am looking for a new case and will not replace it with another pro tec. It's never fit my Mark Vi tenor as well as I would like. It would be a good case for some one who didn't have to travel with it a lot.

What a case!
Comments about Protec ProPac Contoured Tenor Saxophone Case:
One word, WOW. I recently purchased the Protec Contoured case for my S-1 tenor sax. What a wonderful case. There is the perfect amount of padding at all the right places, even at the ends! The case has storage room galore and a neck compartment that completely swallows the neck! What a fabulous case for a very reasonable price!
