I just got my bass clarinet, so I'm certainly no expert, but it seems to be just right. Pockets on the outside to carry things in, compartments on the inside to keep things from bumping around. Lightweight yet sturdy. It seems to be the best case, plus it's price is lower than many I looked at. The only other thing that I could see doing to this case is laminating it

I have an old wood 5pc Noblet Bass Clarinet and needed a protective case. The case I had was not protecting it - in fact the instrument was needing frequent repairs because of this and the fact that putting the two middle joints together was problematical as well.My repairman suggested this case as the combination of increased protection and keeping the middle joints together would make my instrument much less fragile.The clarinet fit great. It's a standard opening, so I keep a little bit of bubble wrap around the (put together) middle sections to keep them stationery. The sections for the neck and bell fit snugly and there is plenty of room for mouthpieces, reeds, cork grease, swab etc. The case zips closed and there is a roomy outside pocket and shoulder straps.This case really solved a very difficult problem for me and I recommend it highly!

This case is sturdy and very lightweight. It has an abundance of storage space which I need because I like to carry lots of extra's with me. I have a 5 piece bass clarinet and this case allows me to assemble the two body portions which allows me less assembly time when I am preparing to play. Large outside pocket and even an extra pocket for notepads and a pen and pencil carrier. The shoulder strap is also a plus!
