A case for this CASE!

By Roy Norman

from New York City

Comments about Protec Pro Pac Contoured Baritone Saxophone Case:

Ok! The Protec Bari Case is an excellent solution to the problem of transporting your Bari Sax. It is padded properly for the type of dent protection needed to prevent inside the case slip 'n slide dings! For the price and weight don't try it, just buy it!! You'll be happy you did! Oh, and get a luggage cart to pull this baby around. SAVE YOUR BACK!After you buy it add some small folded foam sheets of foam around loose areas inside the case to reduce inside horn slippage. You can use a small cart to pull through airports etc.. carrying on you back not a good idea if you want to maintain a healthy back use a luggage cart with any Bari case! It's not a flight case but darn close.

Nice Case

By Heather Landry

from North Kawartha Township, Ontario, Canada

Comments about Protec Pro Pac Contoured Baritone Saxophone Case:

This case is great, very sturdy, not too heavy - lighter than traditional cases. The case that was delivered is a bit different than the one that is pictured in that the organizer on the outside of my case is in a different location and appears to be smaller - no big deal. The only complaint I have is the same as everyone else - I had to crush the corner of the interior padding in order to get the thumb rest in - it just doesn't quite line up. I had to do the same for the neckstrap ring as well ... again, no big deal - it's a lot better than the case it came with. Perhaps they could design it so that the interior pads are moveable with velcro. The padded neck guard is great too!

Good but ....

By SGT17594

from China

Comments about Protec Pro Pac Contoured Baritone Saxophone Case:

It is fair bari case, my comment are as follows:The advantage is that: comparing to the original case and other flight case, it is light weight; reasonable price with enough protection to the bari.; sufficient gig bag for my accessories and sheet music;....The disadvantage is that: My Yanagisawa B991 Bari's bottom thumb holder doesn't fit and has to crush the padding; and the should strap is not long enough and seems can't securely hold the case, you need to buy another should strap.

Good overall case!

By F-6cwj-

Comments about Protec Pro Pac Contoured Baritone Saxophone Case:

Interior padding doesn't line up with my Conn 12M thumb rest. The way my 12M sits in the case, the neck screw is prone to getting bent (not a BIG deal - I get replacement screws really cheap). Other than that, I really am very happy with the case. It seems to be hard to find really good, protective cases for the vintage baris, but I think this one has the best cost-to-feature ratio. Although, this new design doesn't look very good to me. It appears as though they made the accessory pocket much larger and moved it to a different spot on the case. I have the older design, and I think if given the choice, I would still choose mine over the new one. ALSO, I wish you could get a replacement neck sock for these cases!! This is probably the best feature of the case, but I can't seem to get one without buying a whole case to go with it!

pretty good but...

Comments about Protec Pro Pac Contoured Baritone Saxophone Case:

This is a good case except for one thing. My Selmer Bb Bari's bottom thumb holder doesn't fit and has to crush the padding, but that's all that's really wrong with it.

a good compromise.

Comments about Protec Pro Pac Contoured Baritone Saxophone Case:

Smaller and lighter than a traditional case, sturdier than a soft gig bag, and cheaper than a flight case, the Protec is fine if you're not checking it as baggage on a plane. It fits my Cannonball Big Bell . The Neck bag is plush and can fit in the bell or under it. For knocking around town, I feel my baby is secure in the car and walking through crowded clubs with a bari is no longer a nightmare. Room for extras (pens, a small fake book, extra reeds etc.)
