The sound of hard rubber with the projection of metal.
With the Aluminum Vintage Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece, Peter Ponzol has faithfully re-created the dark, husky, free-blowing sound of the famous vintage mouthpieces. Since it is made of aluminum it is lighter weight, but yields more projection and response without sacrificing the tone. A CNC lathe is used to cut the mouthpiece's basic shape. Then the mouthpiece is hand finished and tested for the right sound and feel. Included with the mouthpiece is a Rovner ligature and cap.

Comments about Peter Ponzol Aluminum Vintage Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:
This is a great mpc if you like a darker sound. I would describe it as being able to do something ranging from Sonny Rollins to Joe Henderson. It is very free blowing, I usually play around a .115 but this tip opening was open enough and the mpc was easy to control. If you are playing hard rubber and want to transition to something metal this would be a great choice. It is not the kind of mpc that has alot of punch and projection but it still retains good power. There is a great warmth to it. Very surprised by how light the aluminum was and the matte finish is nice looking, the tip and rails are perfect. If you like a Joe Henderson type of tone this is a good candidate.
