Great rock/blues sax
Comments about Keilwerth SX90R Nickel Silver Tenor Saxophone:
Forget looking the world over for a good Mark VI - this horn is better for rock and blues. The Mark VI is too dark; the nickel silver body adds to this horn's bright sound. If you wail, growl and flutter tongue most of the time, this is the best tenor to own - very bright, powerful and edgy ESPECIALLY when combined with the Rovner Deep V mouthpiece (the same set up used by Clarence Clemons)

Pity of the pads...
Comments about Keilwerth SX90R Nickel Silver Tenor Saxophone:
Plays great but the pads are sticking. This was a major problem during gigs! They use impregnated leather, which seems to cause the problem. After replacement the problem was more or less solved. The sax has NO rolled toneholes, but rings mounted.Sound is great. Can only recommend it.

Sounds beautiful
Comments about Keilwerth SX90R Nickel Silver Tenor Saxophone:
The tone that comes from an SX90R is incredible. It is so rich and full, and the craftsmanship is great. The rolled tone holes are an added plus, they keep the pads from sticking. I know we could all use a vacation from putting the old dollar bill under the g# key. The SX90R is a very versatile instrument. One can produce a classical sound as well as a jazz sound with ease.

fantastic sax
Comments about Keilwerth SX90R Nickel Silver Tenor Saxophone:
Not being a professional, but a student of jazz, I studies all the instruments, their structure and their manufacturing techniques before I purchased this sax. Everyone (teachers and professionals) agrees that this horn is amazing! The sound is clear and crisp, sometimes is sounds like a French horn, the tone is so beautiful. This sax is a top of the line Keilwerth and I can recommend it to anyone who is serious about a great instrument. It is worth the investment.
