Consummate saxophone artistry.

This Keilwerth creation is a masterpiece. It is crafted of nickel silver, plated with black nickel, then given a clear lacquer coat. Gleaming silver-plated keys are accented by black mother-of-pearl buttons. Sophisticated engraving on body, bell, bow, and neck adds a final flourish. It is a stunning instrument. Very elegant.

It also plays great and sounds wonderful. Ergonomically positioned key work, adjustable palm keys, and a repositioned C/Eb make its action smooth, fast, comfortable, and exceptionally easy on the hands. Its plated nickel silver body gives it a direct and fast response, especially in the altissimo range. It has a powerful, vibrant sound with evenly balanced overtones.

Just one flaw!

By Dana

Comments about Keilwerth Shadow SX90R Tenor Saxophone:

The sound is great. Playability is awesome. Looks are stunning. But, I don't understand why JK would use Silver Plated keywork! This horn looks too great and cost too much to tarnish... eventually. Other than that, this is the best horn I've ever played. It sounds like no other. You will not be disappointed.

Finest horn available today

Comments about Keilwerth Shadow SX90R Tenor Saxophone:

I've been a WW&BW customer for 15 years, and this horn has prompted me to submit a review. I've been playing on the SX90R black nickel since I was an undergraduate in college and just purchased the Shadow two weeks ago. The best way to describe the sound is that it is identical to the great response and fullness that you get with the SX90R, but add another 10-20%. The intonation is as perfect as you will get on a saxophone - if you can't play this horn in tune you need to take up another hobby/profession! Over the years I've tried everything else out there (literally) and nothing comes close to the huge, warm sound of the Keilwerth SX90R. Now, they have made it even better. This one is the last word in tenor saxophones - you won't be disappointed. Oh, and by the way, the pictures of this horn on the web don't do it justice. The craftsmanship and artwork is truly remarkable. Play one for yourself!

The Best ever

Comments about Keilwerth Shadow SX90R Tenor Saxophone:

This is the best saxophone I've ever used. My dear MK VI was stolen, so I was in the market for a tenor. The Selmer reference is not nearly as good as a MK VI, it's very different, but still great. My Selmer III is much less punchy than this one. Nobody can ignore it, loud, smooth sound, when played with Phil Barone Jazz and ligature, nothing comes near it. I'm selling my Conn alto and my Rampone for a Shadow alto. Highly recommended.

Amazing sound right out of the box!!

By Evan-W.Dzo

from Chicago

Comments about Keilwerth Shadow SX90R Tenor Saxophone:

After 10+ years of playing mainly Alto Sax and Flute I decided to get back to my roots and start playing Tenor again. I researched every pro horn under the sun, and decided to wait for the release of the Shadow. One of the best decisions I've ever made! Out of the Box it is SMOKIN'! The sound is powerful, and the tone is solid. Its light weight body and beautiful engravings almost make me forget about its dark, rich color, and black pearl keys. The best horn I've ever played. I'd go into more detail, but I'm going to play it instead.
