Good
Comments about Jupiter 305S Piccolo:
This piccolo is good. I had been using a yamah from my school before I got this one, And I find that this one plays much easier, and there arent nearly as many problems with it as the yamah. The only issue I find is the occasionally sticy key, and tuning outside when its very hot or cold. Overall, a good piccolo.

Poor Performance
Comments about Jupiter 305S Piccolo:
I began playing piccolo my freshman year of high school, and I have borrowed one of the two school owned Jupiter JPC-305s each year. Since I began playing, I have been disappointed constantly. These piccolos are hard to maintain, don't function well in cold weather, and have too much resistance, especially in the upper register. Because of their poor performance, I have had to go back and forth between the two piccolos regularly. I am certainly not impressed with the quality of these instruments and do not recommend them at all. Just an example of how unreliable this piccolo can be: During warm-up at a band competition last season, one of the piccolos' keys started sticking and my band director didn't bring the spare, so to fix the instrument, the assistant applied a bobby pin and tape, seriously affecting the intonation of the instrument. Then, a few weeks later at an event sponsored by my college, the other piccolo wouldn't play: the A flat key was sticking because it was cold outside. Consider this before purchasing this piccolo solely because of the price tag.

perfect for first-time player
Comments about Jupiter 305S Piccolo:
I got this piccolo in October 2005. If you have to play in cold weather, or any extreme temperature, then this is the piccolo to go with. It doesn't get really cold. Even though I have never played in a marching band, I have played outside every morning and it always stays in tune. Even my teacher was amazed at the quality of the high register. And it is very durable. I recommend this piccolo not only for marching band participants, but anyone interested in getting a piccolo.

This picc is great.
Comments about Jupiter 305S Piccolo:
I like this piccolo because it's durable. I'm in high school so it needs to be able to take a beating and it can. Also, it doesn't show scratches like a metal one does.

Great Student Piccolo
Comments about Jupiter 305S Piccolo:
I have been playing this piccolo since February 2004, and I think it's a great piccolo to learn on. It takes a little while to get used to when you're learning, but if you work hard enough, you can get a great sound on this piccolo. I love it.

An easy piccolo to play on, it produces a really nice tone and the higher octave comes out with ease! I think this is a great choice for any type of student to enjoy.

Jupiter 305S Piccolo
Comments about Jupiter 305S Piccolo:
This is a very nice piccolo for the price. I previously used a nickel body piccolo, and I think that the tone on this piccolo is much nicer. I hit the high octave with ease. I'm impressed by it, especially for the price. This is a great model for a student.
