Comments about Etude Student Clarinet Model ECL-100:

The instrument does not make any sounds. I taken it to a repair shop and they tighten up a screw on the "A" key and said that was all they could find wrong. I have misplaced the return label and I need to know what to do with this Product.

Comments about Etude Student Clarinet Model ECL-100:

Standard looks, and easy to play the first note. Maybe okay for students just starting out or for loaning out to a friend, but not so good for the professional player. The keywork is not as nimble, quick and easy to control as it is on professional clarinets. It feels stockier and bigger in the hands than other clarinets. When compared to a Selmer Prelude (which is a better student model), I find that a Prelude is far more easier to control and develop skills on than this. However, the Etude has typical entry level clarinet sound, does open doors and will beat having no clarinet at all. Spend the extra and get a quality clarinet.

Comments about Etude Student Clarinet Model ECL-100:

Just because an instrument shaped object "makes a sound" does not mean it is good. I can make a sound on a piece of PVC pipe, that does not make it an instrument. I have had kids show up with these in my band and they are awful. They do not play in tune, they break easily, and they frustrate my students who are trying to get a good sound on an instrument that is not capable of producing a good sound.
Also, when it breaks (and it will), most reputable repair shops will not work on them. If you think buying junk for your kid is something to brag about, go ahead and get one of these. If you want your kid to be successful and enjoy their music experience, talk to a qualified band director and get some recommendations for a decent instrument.
Please do not hold your child back by purchasing a junk horn.

Comments about Etude Student Clarinet Model ECL-100:

The clarinet is surprisingly well built and it has no flaws mechanically. All keys and pads seal well, and it is easy to play. The mouthpiece that comes with the instrument is more than adequate. The sound is OK, with good intonation, perhaps a bit "airy" but adequate. I do not know how long this clarinet will last, but for the moment I am very happy with my purchase. As usual, Music 123 had the best price and shipping was fast.

Comments about Etude Student Clarinet Model ECL-100:

My daughter needed her first clarinet for the 6th grade band. I was so impressed with this clarinet. It was beautiful and sounded great. We were going to rent her clarinet but it was very expensive. The used clarinets were expensive and unsanitary. I bragged to everyone what a great deal we got at MUSIC123!
