The alto saxophone mouthpiece is where it all started, and it has remained the central piece of the company's collection for over fifty years. Claude handcrafted the alto design himself when he was unsatisfied with any molds available to him. His innovation pioneered a better Jazz mouthpiece, the same mouthpiece they are still making today. You will reach new highs and lows, having freedom in your upper and lower register.
Claude created the alto mouthpiece as a jazz piece, but it's bright sound and great projection make it the perfect choice for a variety of genres. It's particularly stunning in rock groups, funk bands, and house music. You'll find these mouthpieces give you the ability to stand out above the crowd, or blend into an ensemble. The versatility of this piece is outstanding, and you will soon find it becomes a favorite to play in several settings.

Comments about Claude Lakey Original Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
I have been using the Lakey since I was a Jr. in High School. I had to learn to play it in tune though. This mouthpiece has a wide variable tuning wise. Drop the jaw and the pitch drops. Squeeze it a little bit and the pitch goes up. It is a great mouthpiece for that reason. The other reasons is that it has a great sound. It is as edgy as it needs to be and, you can get that nice warm tone for less agressive moods.
