The workmanship is very good. The male ends of the top and middle tenon joints are capped with silvery plated metal that match the key work, which is a nice touch that none of my other clarinets have.

It played well right out of the box. Action of the keys felt normal and responsive. The tone is bright, as is to be expected from a small clarinet, except the throat register which is little weak and thin.

I make no judgment as to the mouthpiece that came with the instrument, as I use my own mouthpiece.

One surprising detail regarding this instrument is the case. It is very robust and the spaces for the sections of the clarinet are fitted for a C clarinet, rather than it being just a case for a B-flat or A clarinet that was pressed into service. The storage spaces are generous and deep for the various small items of equipment every musician needs to carry. It also has a compartment in the lid for sheet music, a feature I have not seen in a clarinet case in over forty years.

My primary use for the instrument will be for sight reading and jamming with my violin playing friends.

Overall, I am pleased with this instrument and would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a good quality C clarinet.

I wanted my daughter to play her clarinet with me on the guitar. For me it;s all about the fun and transposing was causing fun issues for my impatient 11 yr old. This C Clarinet is perfect. The quality looks very good. It's very nice and a great solution to jamming with my child for quality family time.
