In a pinch for holiday cash? Turn your old gear into gold with Trade-In Cash Out!

Sure, you can sell your gear on an auction site. But what a hassle—the listing fees, uploading pictures, shipping problems, waiting for payment—the list goes on and on. With Trade-In Cash Out, getting cash or a Music123 store credit for your gear is as easy as 1 ... 2 ... 3! And be sure to start your trade by December 12, 2008 to ensure you get your cash or credit in time for the holidays!

You submit an offer request

To do this, just fill in the self-explanatory form. There’s a lengthy drop-down list of the instruments and music gear that qualify. Just describe the instrument or piece of equipment (make, model, etc.) and its overall condition (clear guidance on rating condition is provided). Then select your approximate asking price, provide your contact information, and click the Get a Quote button.

TICO makes an offer

TICO will respond with a quote by email within a day or two, telling you how much your instrument or gear is worth. The amount quoted is based on a percentage of the retail value of the instrument and your description of its condition. The approximate asking price you submitted isn’t what determines the quote – you may be offered less or more. The intention is to be fair to you and we ask you to be realistic in your expectations. Also, if your item is one that is easier to resell, TICO is more likely to offer a higher amount.

You decide

You then reply to the quote email letting TICO know whether you accept the offer or not. If you accept, TICO will email you a prepaid shipping label so you can send the instrument or gear at TICO’s expense.

When the gear is received it will be inspected. If it matches your description, TICO pays you for it immediately. If it doesn’t live up to your description, TICO revises its offer and again gives you the chance to either accept or reject it. If you accept the revised offer, TICO completes the transaction. If not, the instrument is returned to you, again at TICO’s expense.

How you get your bucks

Most important, you will receive payment promptly in one of two ways: 1) TICO will send you payment for the full amount quoted, in the form of a gift certificate that you can use for any future purchase from Music123. 2) If you prefer to cash out, you will receive a check for the amount minus a 20% charge. It’s your choice. That’s why it’s called the Trade-In Cash Out Program.
