Jupiter model 947GL Soprano Sax

Comments about Jupiter 947GL Artist Soprano Saxophone:

I'm an empty nester amatuer sax player who doubles on flute and clarinet. I play various genres and with different groups, practicing 1/2 to an hour a day on average, sometimes more. I picked up a used no name, no serial number soprano sax to see if I'd want to play. It was junk, but I liked playing it and decided to upgrade.

I took my time and researched manufacturers, features and prices and came to the conclusion this was the best sax for the money. I didn't want to get another piece of junk, but I didn't want to spend a fortune.

I am extremely pleased with this horn. The key action is crisp, smooth and quiet. Intonation is easy from top to bottom. Also, the fit and finish is excellent and the horn fells very sturdy. I have a pro model Yamaha alto sax that I purchased about two years ago and I have to say it's on par with that while the Jupiter is almost half the cost of the same model Yamaha in Soprano.
