I bought this bass over a year ago in black and the battery inside has lasted since the day I got it. I don't plug it into my amp very often, so remember to be frugal when playing through an amp. I replaced the strings with some D'addario strings and the bass sounded great. I've put this bass through a lot and it still plays great. It has fell and has been dropped more times that I can count but has still managed to stay intact. The tuners are superb and the bass doesn't need tuning unless the weather changes, coldness makes string instruments sharp and warmth makes string instruments go flat. The only problem is the fret buzz on the e that I hear occasionally and the strap locks need replacing. Also, the knobs have started coming loose but other than that it has been great.
I have played almost every bass out there. from Vic's Fodera's to the corvette I currently own. however, my first fretted bass was an earlier module of this bass. I must say that this is the thinnest neck (nut) I have ever played. Three piece construction adds strength and it holds its truss in any climate. However, the electronics do not lend itself to tonal adaptability. I would like to see some EMG's and some denser wood on a pro spec model, but for the price this can't be beat. Check it out if its for you then buy it.
One of the best I have ever played or owned. It lightness makes it easy wear through an extended set. While the pick ups allow the choice of how much fatness you want your sound to have.
My first bass and what a choice! The pickups and the bass boost combine for varying sound...the boost also is key for slap or pop style playing from funk to metal... this bass does it all!
I've owned this guitar for 1 year. This is a bass for bassists who are up front in their band. The fret board is only meant for bassists who feel they are good enough to perform bass solos once every 2 songs cause the neck is super fast and is meant to be treated that way. Works really well with the Cry Baby Bass (Dunlop) I actually play the start of voodoo child on this. You can play anything from Zeppelin to Sabbath to Rhcp and Eric Clapton on this.P.S. The bass boost and treble boost are the most powerful weapon on this because it can create sounds that can be anything from soulful to HARMFUL!
I've been playing for only a couple of months, and this is my second guitar (the first one wasn't mine). All in all, it has a really fat sound, once you top off all the controls, and that's something most bassists are going for.Great for beginners such as myself. My next bass will definitely be the ESP Viper!
I have had this bass for almost two months now and I have yet to have a single problem with it. It holds tuning well and can take a beating like you wouldn't believe. Buy this bass! It's great quality for the price.
i really like this bass and it plays nice too. the few others i had dident play like this one
I bought one of these guitars in the yellow wood grain, and it rocks! If you're gonna play the bass, go with Ibanez!
I bought this bass last year and I fell in love with it. It performs great and it sounds even better in the studio. I use it at all my gigs and I used it on my CD. Great bass for beginners or pros. A++. I wouldn't want any other bass.
