martin 000x1= Great
I was definitely on the verge of buying this guitar when I tried it out. I narrowed down my options to this and a Seagull. I love playing Jack Johnson songs on this guitar. The thing that nearly sold me was that action and its playability. Man, I couldn't believe how smooth it was to play this guitar. Of course the sound/tone [played a big role in making my choice. This guitar can sing. I don't think I could really say that this is an entry level for Martin, cause this guitar sounds beautiful. Chords were singing left and right and I think this guitar is perfect for rhythm. Unbelievable.

More guitar, less coin
I always do thorough research before making guitar purchases, and this purchase was no exception. Obviously, as a struggling student I couldn't afford anything high end that Martin makes, and needed an acoustic guitar that had superb playability/action for blues playing and enough projection in strumming (that which Martin is known for). The Martin 000x1 provides this exactly. This pretty baby projects and sings as one would expect a Martin to. Public Sax approved.

awesome guitar
Truly this is one of the best acoustics I've ever had the privilege to play. I would NEVER give up this guitar for another name brand, the Martin quality and sound holds true to this guitar even though it is not one of the higher end models. The action is a little high so its difficult to play down on the 20th fret and so on, but you don't exactly use those frets much so it doesn't make a difference. I've played some awesome acoustics from high end Taylors, Gibsons, and martins, but I would never give up my 000X1 for any other...

I love this guitar
I actually traded down (well price wise anyway) from the mahogany D15. This guitar is simply amazing sounding for the price. The D15 was very bassy and not very 'bright. It just didn't suit my style, flatpick/bluegrass, etc. So I tried the 000X1 and all I can say is WOW. Awesome tone, awesome sound, solid feel like a more expensive martin, and most of all, the sound is just very bright.

Great guitar
I am one of those guys who has owned(briefly) a few guitars, Taylor 814Ce, 714CE, 514CE, 314CE. And let me tell you. I did not have a guitar( at the moment) and decided to buy one under $500 dollars. AS SOON as I picked this up and strummed it I knew this was as good as guitars costing 3 or 4 times as much! What sound! Just to make sure I grabbed some other brands, that did not even come close. What a Guitar! Bravo Martin!!
