Comments about Squier Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I own 2 of these, one in Metallic Black with the Maple fretboard, and a recently acquired Cherryburst which has a Rosewood Fretboard. The only modifications that I made on both of them, was to swap out the stock 500K pots, for all new Fender 250 K pots which IMO, give it more of a Classic Vibe ( Pun Intended ! ). I play mostly Classic Rock and Blues and these guitars can handle that and much more. In the past, I've played Metal and to a extent, some C & W as well with these. Some people like to label these as beginner instruments but I don't look at them that way. The Squier Standard Strat can hold it's own with it's Mexican made cousin and also with the more popular, Made In America Fender standard strat as well. It's all in the setup and the care of these instruments that'll give you the sound you truly need. I would never get rid of these and might possibly get some more in the future . Squier Rocks !
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

it's a very good guitar for the price....
Comments about Squier Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I used to play bass in the band.... but I always wanted to be a lead guitarist, in the band I only play rhythm. so I wanna get a cheap and reliable electric guitar!! in my country there isn't any choice.... mostly china brand guitar.... so I bought this China made squier instead of other china brand. When I first bought this guitar, I was so frustrating with the action, pickups and it dont stays in tune.... then I went to the fender website and search for the standard strat setup, I follow the setup.... now it sounds incredible, nice action.... it stays in tune very well too. I will recommend this guitar to everyone!! if you want a affortable guitar for practice, this is the guitar. but one thing I dont really like is the neck joint.... there is a small gap between the neck and the body, around 1mm gap. that doesn't affect anything.... just i feel that it's a bit difficult to reach the 22 frets.

I absolutely love this guitar!
Comments about Squier Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I have a 2008 model in the Black Metallic finish with the Maple fretboard, which I got last week. I'm a 52 year old guitarist who has been playing for over 37 years and I've tried them all, from Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, to ESP, etc; and I have to say that this is one of the best guitars I have ever played in my life. Just as with any new guitar, I did have to do a little setup in order to have it to my personal specifications, but once I was done with that, I could've sworn that this guitar was much more than the price. I play this through a 2001 Crate GX-65 combo and I'm able to get a wide variety of sounds ranging from Blues to Metal with this axe. The stock tuners keep this baby in tune quite well, while the Alnico single coils have a Classic Vibe to them IMO. I also like the 2 point bridge with the modern style saddles because, they don't tear at your palm while you're playing and they're also quite stable and not loose like those on the Bullet and the infinity models. I used to have a 2006 MIM Fender Standard which I made the mistake of letting go over a year ago, and this is just as good ,if not better than that model. So, if you're either a beginner or are on a low budget, this is the next best thing if you're on the prowl for a Strat.

Buy one!!
Comments about Squier Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I bought my Standard Strat here at Music123 way back in 2001. I love it. Had it set up at a Guitar Center, the tech was impressed, not much at all to change, I had the action lowered a bit. Still play it, built like a tank, hit the ceiling fan with it, just a mark on the headstock is all, didn't even go out of tune. Not a guitar for metal unless you have pedals or change the pickups. But, it does sound like a Strat, after all. Finish is nice, the satin neck smooths out with lots of playing, and it stays in tunel If you want a nice Strat but don't want to pay the bucks for a Mexi-built Fender, get one of these Standard Stratocasters!

Not very good...
Comments about Squier Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I got this guitar a few years ago and I have to say, it is not good. Doesn't sound very good with the default pickups and the strings are a long way from the fretboard, making it hard to play some songs. Other than that, it is just really uncomfortable to play and this guitar should not be bought by people who have a bad guitar looking for a better one and should NOT bought by experts.
