Crate GLX1200H 120W Head  

This is the best toneful value I have found in a solid state head. I normally would not recommend a solid state amp with built in effects because they all seem to be missing that little something, but, the GLX1200H is very good without looking at the price. The clean channel is nothing short of killer and the other two distortion channels are both very good and different from each other. The only two things I don't love about the amp is that you must get your speaker load down to 4 ohms to get your 120 watts out of it and I wish that the effects could be tweaked individually. The tone stay consistent from low volume to high and is plenty loud gig with. Surprising touch for a solid state amp. This amp can comfortablly cover all genre and for that alone is well worth the cash. This is one that you don't want to get away!

I bought this head in the full stack package and it is loud! I run through a lot of effects in addition to the built in ones so this is a great amp for that, because it's the best you get get for your money and I'm not gonna buy a tube amp just to run a load of effects through. You might wanna get a Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor though cuz the Solo channel can produce a lot of hum with the gain cranked up. Great amp.

I bought this Crate GLX1200H because I didn't have a stack. After buying it I was really impressed but not with the volume. The Crate GLX1200H pushed these speakers to the point of wall peeling. All three channels are great, the effects aren't bad, but I use pedals. This amp will also get clean if you need it too. This amp can cover any sound. IT IS A GREAT AMP, and even greater as a full stack. Take my word. I have seen amps come and go. Only four start because nothing is perfect.

I bought this head when it first came out at a local dealer. Brought it home and hooked it up to a Line 6 Flextone 1 cab. It's the best sound I've had so far. I use a BOSS Metal Zone with it which sounds pretty good. I play Death Metal and this head is perfect! I couldn't ask for anything more. (well worth the money)

I love this head. It is just flat out amazing. An awesome clean sound with a heavy solo channel. Great for any style of music.

I bought this head after much research and I've been gigging with it for several months now. It has features like no other, effects blend fairly nicely. It lacks good outs (ex. 2 speaker outs), but this is an amp for live shows. What I was most impressed by was the distortion. The Crunch sounds almost identical to the Blue Voodoo Tube distortion. It's probably the best solid state crunch I've ever heard. Good truthful cleans.

I bought it with the 4X12 angled cab, replacing a Randall and Peavey Cabinet. On it's own (guitar to amp), the cleans are sweet and the 16 effects aren't bad. For me, the head distortion is razor sharp, but weak on the lower end. But, when I run the BOSS GT-6 through the rear return, the thing sings like no other, in all settings. After using a plethora of other amps and cabinets, I found this to be simply the best. It rocks on with any style of music. You won't be sorry with this purchase! And, be sure to get yourself a BOSS GT-6. It'll revive your playing and get you back in guitar-playing addiction.

I just bought the GLX1200H half stack, and the crisp sound it produces is amazing. It is worth every penny of the money. Enough sound to handle the big shows, and mellow enough to handle the small ones. Highly recommend it!

This is by far the best amp head I have ever used. It has everything a musician would need in just about every situation. I found the light-up display on the controls very useful, as well as the built in tuner. I can't think of anything I didn't like about this amp.
