Acoustic

A seriously powerful amp for serious bassists.

The Acoustic B200 professional combo is designed for large club and live applications where the sound of its 15" bass driver and horn will fill the stage with warmth and punch. That's because it pounds a massive 200 watts RMS into the internal 15" speaker, delivering the classic Acoustic pro's tone in a portable, professional design.

The two bass inputs are designed to accommodate both active and passive bass instruments while the Gain and Volume controls give you complete control over the character of your tone. Increase the gain for some old school rock tones, or lower it and turn up the volume for great clean, classic or funk tones. The preamp includes a very natural and tube-like compression as well as a harmonically rich distortion circuit, which keeps your tone musical--even at high volume levels. The B200 also includes a frequency sweepable -10dB notch filter to tailor your mids, and a six-band EQ for exact control over every nuance of your bass's tone.

Rear panel features include a parallel effects loop, tweeter on/off switch, and XLR balanced Line Out with Level Control and Ground Lift. The series extension speaker jack provides an output for an additional cabinet such as the Acoustic B115 or B410.

The heritage of Acoustic comes through loud and clear in the B200--a seriously professional amp for serious bassists.

Acoustic B200 200watt - Great Amp for Electronic drums

By boltergiest

from Undisclosed

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I have been looking for an amp to play live gigs with my electronic drums. I started with a couple of 10" amps (line6) which were fine when I practiced alone but on live gigs it wasn't loud enough and I wanted my acoustic set back. This amp has got tons of power also has the direct out and a switchable horn which makes it perfect for me because some of the sounds from the E-kit require a higher register (cymbals & percussion stuff) I originally ordered the 100W (B100) but it was back ordered for 3 months. (which was pretty lame when you consider Music 123 took my money before they told me it was back ordered) but when I called to reverse the order they gave me the option to ake this unit at almost the same price which makes it an awesome deal. I have nothing but great things to say about this Amp (easy to operate - very straight forward - great sound) and Music 123 ultimately fair - quick and good service.

What's not to like?

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

Just forget how great a value this bass combo truly is at this price point....instead look at this... can you get the sound you want out of it at a volume suitable to your venues. The amp provides a solid 200W of old school bliss. You can really get some earth shattering lows out of this puppy if you desire or get pretty thin sounding if that is your bag...with six eq's and a notch filter you can find the tone that makes you happy. I found the amp to be very responsive to the controls on my bass, as well as my touch.... I fould it is easy to really lock in on a groove and just melt into it. This thing is a bit on the wieghty side so if you are going to be moving it often by yourself you will find a good set of caster a must and the B200 is ready for them. The cooling fan is a tiny bit noisy but I am glad it is there. If you want to get a really modern sound with loads of effects you can just plug up your effects processor to the back panel and awat you go. There is also a balanced line out with level control for recording or running to the board... I have not checked it out yet but I am sure it is on par with the quality of of the rest of the features....I have enjoyed this amp so far and found it has tone that will turn heads in a good way.. I love the tone I can tweak out of the B200 and It has plaenty of headroom for anything venue I plan play...Check it out and get one if you like what you feel. I did!

Good Amp

By evolakos

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

Nice sounding amp. Great option to turn the horn on / off, awkward position for this switch though. It is located in the rear, in a recessed area - hard to see / use inputs in this area.

The amp itself sounded terrific - great big booming bass sound, fully adjustable with the horn on and the EQ set to have the mids and highs pop. Very loud, can shake your windows with the gain and volume set at 2. Nice to have two inputs in front for passive / active bass pickups.

I ordered the Ernie Ball Pop in Caster set. The amp had pre-set mounting holes for the casters to pop right in - not mounting or screws to use. The casters do come with a mounting bracket and screws if needed, but they fit the Acoustic cab perfectly. The recessed spring loaded handles are nice too.

I tried the amp with a Thunderbird, and a Fender Precision. The T-Bird just rocked, the Fender produced really nice warm tones. Great amp.

Acoustic B200 amp

By Mark-WLeOH

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I play a fender precision hot-rodded 4-string fretless bass(an earily 80s model) and I couldn't be happier with my new b200. After doing product research and comparision, this amp was the best one for the money. I upgraded from a Peavey Basic112 - 50 watt amp to this growling, bad boy, which makes my 4-string sound like a 5- string. I seldom have to turn up the gain and the master volume past the 11:00 position. Massive sound-massive power. The guitar players I work with have no trouble feeling my bass rig even 25" away on stage. My only suggestion to "Acoustic", would be to make the rear opening about 2" taller for easier access for adjustments, cables and plugging / unplugging the power cord. I love the E.Q.,the notch filter and the dual inputs.Great sound tailoring options. I use the XLR line out every time I play, which works well for the house blend. I'm anxious to do an outdoor gig to see if I even need to add an ext. speaker. The 3-year warranty is an exellent compliment to the amp.My hats off to "Acoustic" for a great amp. I would recomend this amp to anyone with a moderate budget for small to medium size gigs.I have owned this amp only 7-weeks, but I don't anticipate needing a bigger amp for a long time, if ever.Don't hesitate, this is a great amp-great buy.

Don't pass on this one!

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

Used it at a studio today, when I first saw this rather small combo I thought it was a joke, it looked like a practice amp, but when plugged in and very quickly dialed in a great fat warm bass tone, I was hooked! we are pretty loud, and I'm always being asked to turn it up I always tell them there is no more! it's farting and flapping, Not with this amp, I can't believe how powerful and clean this amp is and with volume to spare, I had an Acoustic back in the early 80's, and I guess I will own another soon, and priced they way it is I can get a full stack for the price of some combo's and toss my Hartke! Don't hesitate buy it!

Great Amp

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I was shoping for a bass cabinet to leave were my band rehearses when I stumbled onto this amp. I had never heard of Acoustic , so I decided to give the B 200 a try while it was on sale. I'm glad I did. It has great tone and it's more than loud enough. I have no trouble hearing the amp over our drummer and he's a hard hitter. This amp is a great value for the money. If you need a good combo amp for practice and small gigs. This is the amp to get.
