The next step in virtual amplification.

By adding a host of new features and capabilities to the Behringer V-AMP 2 Guitar Effects Processor, Behringer has upgraded their already-legendary modeler. You now get 32 amp models as well as the original 15 speaker simulations which can be selected independently of the amp models. A 24-bit, studio-quality stereo effects unit offers an array of useful algorithms including chorus, tremolo, compression, noise gate, delay, and much more. A separate, manually or MIDI-controllable wah and 9 stereo reverbs are available in combination with any other effect, amp, or speaker setting. 2 effects parameters are directly accessible. This cool unit retains the original V-Amp's chromatic tuner and a tap tempo function for realtime adjustment of effect speed. You also get an adjustable stereo aux input, stereo line output with speaker simulation, 3-band EQ, master volume, and adjustable headphone output. The MIDI interface enables realtime remote control, automation, data transfer, and access to additional parameters. The 125 onboard presets are organized into 25 banks and include 50 presets by renowned guitarists. On top of all that, the V-Amp 2 offers 5 practical configuration modes plus a presence control that simulates negative-feedback tube amps. The new preamp bypass lets you use it as a stereo effects unit. Dramatically improved gate and noise-reduction circuits produce an impressive 90dB S/N ratio. The V-Amp 2 is simple to operate with dedicated controls for all essential settings. Behringer offers additional presets and downloadable V-Amp editor software on its website. Behringer includes dual footswitch, AC adapter, and carrying bag with the V-Amp 2.

If this "pre-amp" would work better when you play it to amps and mixer consoles and so on it would be one of the best digital preamps ever. It's the perfect thing to work with when you are sitting home and play with headphones, it sounds like heaven then ;). But when you plug it to an amp and test quite high volume it's starting to ring and shouting.

How it works.

By Mac Smith

from Fort Lee, Virginia

I am loving this little digital machine. It is no stack but if it is tweaked right it is excellent for recording where it sounds real!!! I am still searching for quality sound, so far it does what I want it to!! I even record with it and it is better than a amp. with a mike. I can plug it directly to my pc start recording. The case with accessories are great for a total package.

BLOWN AWAY

By Jeff Schroeder

from Michigan

I've never written a review before, but after purchasing this product I am compelled to write one now. I received it last Friday and used it all weekend...it's Monday and I'm still thinking about the awesome deal I got. My wife got tired of me talking about it all weekend. Anyway, the key word is "value". Obviously you are not going to replace a real Marshall or Mesa Boogie, etc. amp with this thing, but it comes darn close for the money. For under a hundred bucks this thing is a steal. I can't believe they can sell this kind of quality for such a low price...I'm truly shocked!!! Not only is the unit great, but it comes with an ac adapter, foot switch, and nice carrying case. I've only just begun to tap into its capabilities, but so far I'm very impressed. Nice job Behringer. Unbelievable value is an understatement. You know you want one...don't hesitate...buy one now!!!

Extremely Satisfied with the V-Amp

By YoDudeRock

from Grand Rapids, MI

The "Custom Hi-Gain" setting is the #1 amp simulation on this thing. Exquisite distortion tone from that one. I get complements on the guitar sound from people that don't even play guitar. There are lots of other usable tones also. I don't find the clean tones as high quality as the distortion tones. The LED display around each knob is nice and unique. 125 presets is plenty.

I cant beleive it!

By Joel Schlecht

from milwaukee area

I started playing guitar 20 years ago. However, I haven't played or bought anything for the past 12 years due to the demands of family life. Now that I'm getting back into it I wanted to update my tone. I came across the V-amp 2 and bought it. I figured for the price I couldn't go wrong. The unit is more sturdy and heavy than I expected , after reading the other users' comments. When I plugged it in I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It made my $1000 worth of old equipment sound like garbage. In fact, I'm going to just throw out all my old stuff now. There is no point in keeping it. The v-amp makes everything else obsolete. Boss pedals, my Peavy profex, even my crate CR-280 amp, garbage. My amp colors the sound too much so being a singer I have a full P.A. system. I plugged the v-amp directly into my carvin fet 450 and into a 12" full range monitor speaker and voila! I now own a virtual mesa boogie! I also get 125 watts out of that speaker, much louder than I had before. If I want more power or stereo (the effects are stereo), I plug in another speaker. I'm in heaven. Now my upstart nephew can't touch my tone. There are some complaints about not getting super distortion out of these things. There's a drive function buried in the controls. But, when you find it, it boosts the gain significantly. Remember, this thing models real amps so you get the sound of those amps. If you're trying to sound like different artists, you have to inspect their setup. Kurt Cobain used a boss ds-1 or ds-2 in front of his mesa boogie and you can too. Nothing prevents you from putting more effects in front of this thing like a real amp for more versatility.I just wish I had this thing when I started playing. Back in the 80's, you couldn't get far with a $100. Now you can have it all. I use this thing for recording direct into my computer. No need for an expensive mic, experimenting, bothering everyone. I can also use it as a preamp for my vocal mic right into the computer. How convenient! I can also use the tube preamp to give the vocals some warmth.Buy this thing. You will be very, very, happy. My nephew bought a digitech multieffects and next to this it just is a no- brainer.

Very good product

By Scott-rIZ7Z

from Florida

I've had this product about a week or two now, and find it very handy. Every effect sounds great. If you're into metal/ any other "hardcore" rock you may not like the different types of distortion. When the gain is turned up all the way (especially with the Brit hi-gain) it creates a lot of noise, which can be irritating to some. All-in-all would recommend this pedal to all, except for those play very highly distorted music.

Awesome Stuff

By TC-k6gWG

from Brisbane, QLD Australia

I got the V-amp 2 earlier this year and I love it! I've found with a little tweaking of the existing models, it matches exactly to the sound of Metallica and the like. The little footswitch is fine, but if you want real value, get the FCB1010 midi pedal. It plugs straight in and you've got heaps of choices and 2 expression pedals. This totally opens up new doors for playing. I've tried the POD and I would not touch it again. I love my V-amp 2.

Good, but get the Pro

By Daniel-PTG0.

from Springfield, OH USA

This was a really nice piece of equipment, sound wise. The only problems I have with it is the slight delay when moving from amp model to amp model, and how the cords spider out all over the place on this thing.

eh...

By me-H.XBB

from outside of Philly

I bought this thing last summer, and overall, I like it. It gives off really diverse sounds and sounds good running through my amp. The only problem I have with it, is the delay. When switching from clean to distortion....it's not immediate. With a distortion pedal..you hit the button it turns on....with the v-amp 2...there is a delay..which takes some getting used to.
