Round out your bass tone with this pickup set.
The additional power translates into a bigger sound that emphasizes the resonant character of the instrument. The DiMarzio Model J(TM) pickup's sensitivity and deep tone are also the perfect complement to fretless basses. Double-stop glissandos and delicate violin-style vibrato speak with a classic, woody voice simply by backing off slightly on the tone control. For an even more varied choice of tones, pair a bridge position DiMarzio Model J(TM) with a DiMarzio Model P pickup. The warm, fat tone of the DiMarzio Model P plus the tight punch of the DiMarzio Model J(TM) open up the sound of any bass.

Comments about DiMarzio DP123 Model J Bass Pickup Set:
I put this pickup set in a jazz bass is was building. I was looking for increased output w/ a vintage vibe..the response was amazing! Increased lows, punchy mids, and great high end, too (and not too glassy). No additional EQ-ing is needed on my rig like w/ cheaper pickups. Little or no EQing has been needed for PAs as well (I had the oprotunity to plug this bass direct into a large PA system at a local 400-seat theatre, and the tone response was impressive to say the least). Pickups also sound great for direct recording... either in a pro-studio or at home with a 4-track. These pickups would be great for the intermediate player looking to replace their stock pickups, but would also be great for the seasoned player looking for that "old school" vibe without paying that old school $5000 price tag for a vintage bass (and if you DO have a vintage jazz bass BUT bad pickups...these will make the bass sing again). NOTE- These pickups are a bit deeper than most pickups I've worked with. Some additional routing may be needed depending the bass you're putting them in (some cheaper bodies aren't routed deep enough). Still, the work will be worth it!
