Add P-90 sound to your humbucker-equipped axe.
A Phat Cat is an actual single-coil P-90 Soapbar guitar pickup that fits under a humbucker guitar pickup cover and drops into humbucker-equipped guitars. The tone is big and fat, er, phat. It uses two Alnico 2 magnets for more sustain and softer attack. Also, the metal covers provide more shielding and noise reduction than standard soapbar covers. Comes with single-conductor hookup cable.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SPH90-1n Phat Cat:
I am a very happy Phat Cat user, that said, let's discuss the specifics. Although marketed as a p90 clone in a humbucker cover, this is not entirely true. The main difference in the Phat Cat is the magnet choice. Seymour Duncan (in conjunction with Hamer Guitars) chose to use Alnico 2 magnets. This choice lead to several tonal differences between the Phat Cat and a 'true' p90. Most p90s you will hear today use Alnico 5 magnets, which have a tighter bass response and a sharper attack, with slightly scooped mids. What the phat cat offers is rather even, VERY SWEET, tones. It has a round, warm bottom end, and mids with just a touch of bite. If you're looking for a p-90 with a sweet tone, this is what you need. I like it. I replaced the humbuckers in an Ibanez Artcore model with Phat Cats and found that it gives the guitar a very T-Bone Walker vibe. In comparison however, it is difficult for me to get a biting Marc Ribot vibe (yes, even with overdrive). You trade snarl for sweetness.
